1966 AMC RAMBLER REBEL 2 DOOR HARDTOP --
West Coast Classics are proud to present an exceptionally straight and rust free and great daily driving survivor of this very rare and mostly all original and stock (apart from the wheels and paint) 1966 AMC Rambler 'Rebel' 2 Door Hardtop with the car's original and highly desirable upgrade 327/250HP V8 engine, 'Flashomatic' automatic transmission with floor shifter, factory power steering, dual master cylinder brake system, with 'Rebel' special trim and identification and bucket seats, center armrest, electric clock, AM/FM... factory radio, electric windshield wiper washer & period style 'American Racing' wheels and the car has had one professional repaint in it's original 'Samoa Light Gold Metallic' color paint with a Black interior! The 1966 'AMC Rambler's' had a lot going for them, but were one of the most confusing model ranges of all time. The AMC Rambler line-up was a collection of different vehicles left over from the formation of American Motors Corporation, through the merger of Nash and Hudson. Originally sold as the Nash Rambler in 1958, the name became a generic term for any number of models in the AMC range, including a compact car called the Rambler American and the Rambler Rogue Coupe, the larger Rambler Classic and the top-of-the-line Rambler Ambassador. There was also the Rambler Marlin Coupe, which was a pretty but unsuccessful attempt to take on the all conquering Ford Mustang. Despite the massively confusing model range more than 4M Ramblers were sold but AMC failed to make a profit and the range marked the beginning of the end for the corporation. This car is an original California 'Black License plate' car and has been owned since new by obviously only very careful and mature California owners and obviously has always been garaged from the elements and is rust and accident free with all original factory markings still in place and hence a true survivor car! The body is razor straight and the interior is stunning with all original bucket seats with console, a beautiful dash and instrument cluster and it's original two-tone '60's style steering wheel. The car boasts its original 327/250HP 'J' code V8 engine and its original and legendary 'Flashomatic' transmission. The car also boasts its original AM/FM factory radio and heater and power steering. The car has been extraordinarily well maintained and boasts a thick file of service records showing that at no time was any expense was spared on this car's preventive maintenance. This great driving 1966 AMC Rambler 'Rebel' Classic 2 Door Hardtop is a rare survivor from this era and would make a wonderful daily driver for any classic American muscle car enthusiast. The rebuilt 327 V8 engine runs strong and sounds absolutely magnificent and this particular car drives really well - must be driven to be appreciated - does not miss a beat and purrs like a kitten - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day car a run for it's money! With very few remaining '66 AMC Rambler Rebel's left in this kind of condition or with the desirable 327 V8 engine, this is an extremely unusual opportunity to own a great daily driving example of this rare and very desirable sixties muscle car, built to compete with the Mustang and GTO's of the era with power steering in very fine daily driving condition ready and for any classic American car enthusiast to enjoy or collect today!
