1964 AMC Other --

Up for NO RESERVE auction is my 1964 AMC Rambler 770 2-door hardtop. I have the original owner identification and it was purchased new by Percy C Foglesonger from Chambersburg, PA on 10-10-1964. It was sold new at Mel Brown INC of Waynesboro PA. I purchased this highly optioned AMC in Tennessee. It is very solid on top and underneath. Showing 97,870 miles, which are believed to be original, this 770 is powered by the... factory 287CI V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. Under hood options include factory air conditioning (not blowing cold) power steering, and power brakes (4 wheel drum) This car around and drives very nice! Those on the road straight, and has a slew of recently upgraded mechanicals. A fresh tuneup includes a new carburetor, new points, new brake shoes and master cylinder, new water pump, Valve cover gaskets, points, plug wires, and a new wiper motor. The body on this car is pretty straight, no visible bubbling, paint cracking, or any signs of damage from an accident. The paint is not a concourse quality paint job, rather a very strong driver. The trim is in good shape, chrome is acceptable, a little hazy on the rear bumper. Undercarriage appears to be solid, free of any holes or replacement sheet metal. It looks like the original floor pans and rocker panels to me. Interior is in nice shape, no major blemishes to note. It has a factory tilt steering wheel, factory AM/FM radio which has been disconnected and replaced with a modern AM/FM CD player which works great. The upholstery is in great shape, the headliner looks good, and the dashboard appears to be fairly new. It has a driver remote mirror. The trunk is solid and is outfitted with a full size spare. I consider this car to be an excellent driver, something you don't see every day and an excellent way to get into an entry-level collector car for not a lot of money.
