1978 AMC Pacer SW

1978 AMC Pacer SW, 2 dr, 258ci Eng, Automatic, AC, *RARE* - NO RESERVE -

This rare car is a 1978 AMC Pacer Station Wagon. It is a 2 door station wagon with a hatch - all open and close properly. Glass is all clear, no issues. The car has a nice 258ci that runs well. Rear wheel drive. Mileage shows 26,859. Car is currently running off an auxiliary gas tank., I would suggest flushing the existing gas tank which I haven't done. Automatic transmission shifts fine. Car comes with factory air conditioning, a rare option on these cars. All new brakes, master cylinder, calipers and wheel cylinders. Brakes need to be bled. Front seats are in excellent shape. In general interior needs a good cleaning. All windows are good, all trim is present. Owner manual is included.

For a 40 year old car, this car is in reasonably good shape and is a reasonable restoration project. Won't need much work for it to be road worthy. Surface rust. Headliner needs to be reinstalled. Car needs a new left side (driver side) taillight lens, existing one has a hole. The simulated wood grain that was on lower part of car isn't there any more. Power steering works but is noisy. Don't know if air conditioning works. Blower does not come on, Will check the fuses.

More and more Pacers are showing up in major auctions.

"A 1976 AMC Pacer Hatchback was used in the 1992 movie Wayne's World, and again in the 1993 movie Wayne's World 2. After sitting unused for over 20 years, the car was restored to the same specifications as in the movie. The car was sold for $37,000 at the 2016 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Las Vegas, Nevada."

Please Note: Car is a 1978. Appears that last registration was in Louisiana in 2007. I just looked at the title and it is the wrong one for the car. It is for a 1977 Pacer. Car will be sold with NY Bill of Sale. I will include the 1977 title with the car. Buyer indemnifies seller (myself) from any and all issues related to use of the 1977 Pacer title. Buyer certifies that he/she understands that the 1977 Pacer title is for display or collector purposes. In addition, buyer also understands that he/she takes full responsibility for use of the 1977 Pacer title. Buyer indemnifies seller (myself) from any and all issues related to the title. Car is sold "as is, where is".
