Description:

1957 Alfa Romeo Spider

A dry climate time capsule, n a mechanic’s bay for 35 years.

It was built in December 1957, N 1495 03151. The current engine is 1315 43552, isted as a 1958. (Original, s stamped on the number plate, s 1315 42983) The previous owner, rom Eastern Washington, ook it to Carlo Durante at Alfa of Tacoma in 1977 for the head to be overhauled. He ended up leaving it to have the bottom end rebuilt, teering box replaced, nd front suspension rebuilt. Later the brakes were done. Then he couldn’t pay for it so they put a cover over it and it sat there until October 2011, hen we bought it. Carlo then finished assembling it, leaned the carburetor, eplaced the fuel pump, attery, nd ignition parts, ebuilt the brake system and replaced the lines, dded oil and water for the first time since the rebuild, hanged the other fluids, emoved and cleaned the gas tank, tc., nd did everything to get the car on the road again. It starts and runs well. It was next taken to Group 2 Motorsports for new Vredesteins and a complete alignment. We registered it and first put on the road in June 2012. After 500 miles, hen it was returned to Alfa of Tacoma to retorque the head, he entire rear of the car was rewired. The seats have been restuffed, he exhaust system has been replaced and miscellaneous parts have been added to make it complete. Since June 2012 we have put less than 900 miles on it, he odometer currently reads 11,840 miles.

It has a working Motorola AM radio, E headlights, he top and tonneau cover are excellent and all of the lights work. It appears to have the original mats and carpets. To our knowledge, he only rust is surface rust on the trunk floor and some on the grille. It was repainted prior to 1977, ot a very good job, nd the upholstery may have been replaced, ut we don’t think so. Other than that, n electric fuel pump, ome modern clamps and fuel filter, e believe the car is original and complete. We will also include original magazine road tests, dvertising, reproduction) manuals and a very comprehensive CarDisc DVD containing Owners, arts, nd Shop manuals, ales Brochures, echnical Bulletins, tc. This is a very solid, onest car and it is time for it to go to a good home where it will be driven and appreciated. It was the subject of the June 2013 Alfa Owner cover story, Barn Find Raiders of the Lost Alfa of Tacoma".
