Description:

1953 Willys Aero Falcon

I am selling this car because I bought a truck and don't have space to keep both.
The drivetrain and other mechanical and electrical components of this car are in common with Willys Jeepsters and Jeep station wagons of the era, but the car body is very unique!Very original. Not a show car but it is a fun driver, very rare, and turns a lot of heads and gets a lot of thumbs ups. This Willys Aero Falcon has been driven on a 1,000+ mile trip in the last year. The car is in good shape, having mostly been stored indoors for decades. There is some surface rust, but no holes through, even when looking under the car on a lift.
Drivetrain:Flathead inline-6 L-161 Willys engine3 speed manual, column shift, has overdrive for highway speeds (top speed around 70mph)1 barrel Carter YF carburetor rebuilt in 2016, could use a retune
Recent work & parts:New aluminum radiator, upper and lower radiator hoses, rebuilt starter, re-manufactured master brake cylinder, electric fuel pump (comes with a re-manufactured mechanical fuel pump, not installed), new clutch (pressure plate & friction disc), throw out bearing & sleeve, clutch fork, springs, pilot bushing, cut and balanced flywheel, new or rebuilt wheel cylinders for each wheel, relined brake shoes, NOS brake drums installed retro plug wires with Rajah ends, spark plugs, cap, rotor, points, condenser, new oil pressure switch, headlight bulbs, brake light bulbs, park light bulbs
Comes with a reprint of the Mechanic's Manual, and an original Willys Passenger Car Parts List bookFull size spare tire in trunk(5) Firestone F560 Radial Tires (165R15) purchased 2016, less than 2000 miles wear. Driver's side has a slow leak, I suspect the wheel just needs to be cleaned up for the bead to sit properly on it.Paint is in fair condition, it's a repaint by a previous owner with some imperfections and scratches.Comes with 5 Willys chrome hubcaps, original oil bath air cleaner as well as modern dry element air filter, anda set of retro seat belts in case the new owner wants to install themInterior is in good condition with no tears in the seats which have a really unique patternto themDoor panels are in fair condition, driver's door is roughest
What could use attention:
  • Headliner could use repair or replacement
  • Vacuum wiper motor disconnected, comes with it and an electric kit so you can choose to keep it original or improve it
  • Driver's side of windshield has a crack in the glass
  • The engine runs hot, it might need the thermostat replaced or the water pump rebuilt (kaiserwillys-dot-com has a rebuild service)
  • Hood has a small bend on passenger side
  • Fuel gauge does not give a correct reading (reads E when full, half when near empty), might need a new fuel sending unit
  • New old stock replacement park brake cable included, not installed
  • 2nd gear is a bit hard to find, shift linkage could use adjustment
