After WWII was over willys had 1824 of these left that didnt go to the war so they decided to convert them to civilian jeep which is where the (CJ) came from! they produced two colors that year harvest tan and green. This 1945 Willys CJ2A starts right up, runs good drives good and shifts through all the gears great.this has a fiberglass body on it.this has the original engine which is a 134L 4 cyl. flat head runs great starts right up everytime! idles so smooth.this has the original transmission its a 3 speed with reverse. this past winter i removed the transmission to put in a new clutch while i had it out I installed new gaskets and bearings along with the main gear set.I also took apart the transfer case and installed new gaskets and bearings too.all drive shaft u joints have been replaced.New master cyclinder and new brake lines, all new brakes on the willys.4 new heavy duty tiresrims have been sand blasted and paintedsteering box has been rebuiltcarb rebuiltThis runs on leaded racing gas, you can run reg gas with a lead additivenew coil new solinoid new key switchnew oil pan gasketcomplete new clutchnew gas petalnew led front turn signal lightsnew rear stop turn running led tail lightsnew led license plate light4 new shocks.brand new front seats (much more comfortable than stock). The Inside of the entire body has sprayed in truck bed liner and its really easy to clean and looks so sharp!brand new gas tank original mounting location was under the driver seat i moved it to the rear or the jeep. i notched out the rear fender wells to push the seats back so with the seats back and the tank moved there is plenty of room now.Brand new front windshield installed by a local companyI custom built a trunk area where the back seat would mount, which now the fuel tank is in it and there is also room for storage. I also built an arm rest with cup holders. There is space to mount a radio in the arm rest.oil has been changed in both front and rear diffs.engine oil, transmission and transfercase all have brand new oil installedThis Willys starts up great, runs great shifts smooth. Not sure of the exact milage due to it being 72 years old!the only thing that needs done is the gages on the dash need wired up also all the wires are under the dash they just need connected. I just dont have the time now to finish it up. I do drive it around town and stuff. its fun and its a real head turner! I get stopped all the time from people that want to know about it. this is unit 1696 out of 1824 built and 1 of 30 left of the 1945 model. Parts are real easy to order online should you need any.the frame is solid the body is fiberglass there are some scruffs and stuff on the body, the body is not perfect but it still looks pretty good. 4 wheel drive works fine if you want a real cool looking Jeep this is it!
