1964 Volvo 122s Imported from Sweden
Title and Registration: Clean MN title and tabs paid through Aug 2017
Mileage: unknown on car, but less than 5,000 after complete rebuild.
History: I am a mechanic who purchased the car in 2006 from a gentleman in Minneapolis who imported it from Sweden in 1998. Upon purchase I was given all related documentation for the car including: original documents, manuals, industry magazines, and repair records. I bought this 122s as a project car and spent the next 3 years working on it...
Work done and equipment added:
CHASSIS / BODY:
1. I quickly discovered as I got into this project that the gentleman who sold me the car had covered up extensive rust with black underbody covering, body mud, and paint. I striped the car down to bare metal in all damaged areas and welded in replacement sheet metal.
2. The rocker panels where extensively damaged, so I cut them out and welded in new structural square tubing.
3. Comprehensive sheet metal repair/replacement throughout.
4. All glass good original.
5. Body modifications: gas tank well, structural steel members added throughout - integral roll cage, engine compartment mods to accommodate engine mods.
SUSPENSION / STEERING
1. New rear single rate lowering springs - Vintage Performance Developments
2. New front progressive lowering springs - Vintage Performance Developments
3. Installed poly bushings throughout, i.e. all suspension and steering points - IPD
4. Installed all four shocks, Bilstein - IPD
WHEELS / TIRES
1. Sumitomo all weather tires w/ 90% tread
2. Refurbished all aluminum alloy wheels
FUEL SYSTEM
1. Upgrade to new electric fuel pump
2. New gas tank, 20 gallons.
3. New fuel pressure regulator & gauge
4. 2 new Mikuni HSR 45 carburetors - Fox Distributing, Inc.
ENGINE
1. Completely rebuilt B20 replacement motor w/ big valve head
2. New water pump
3. Installed oil cooler system
4. Installed 6 blade cooling flex fan - Jegs
TRANSMISSION
1. Completely rebuilt M41, with short throw shifter
2. Custom tranny tunnel
3. Racing clutch with lightened flywheel
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
1. Rebuilt alternator
2. New Bosch coil
3. New spark plugs and wires
4. Installed points replacement electronic igniter - Pertronix Inc.
5. MSD 6AL ignition box - Jegs
6. New Battery relocated to rear
7. New Sony stereo w/ USB, internal ipod cubby, and Bluetooth, 4 speakers bass box with amp in the trunk. Kickin' sound.
BRAKE SYSTEM
1. New front rotors - from Sweden
2. Complete front caliper rebuild including pistons & new seals
3. Recently new front brake pads
4. Rear drums turned, new shoes
5. Single line system upgraded to dual line system: brake buster from a 164 and new master cylinder installed
6. Brake pressure valve installed
GUAGES
1. 5 new Autometer gauges - fuel, voltmeter, oil pressure, water temperature, and a 5" tachometer w/ shift light.

This is a very special Volvo looking for a special owner. It is not a perfect nor finished project, i.e. no speedometer, but no worries a good driver can tell speed by rpms :) However, it drives beautifully, is mechanically supreme,really fast, and super fun!!!
