Description:

1968 Volvo 122S Amazon Amazon

1968 Volvo 122 Amazon Wagon

This car was bought this from the original owner’s estate in May 2009; a Nationally Famous artist that lived in Los Angeles and moved to New Mexico in October of 1968 where the car spent the rest of its life.

It was immediately bought by the owner of the largest and oldest Volvo repair shop in the Southwest who had maintained it for the original owner.

When they got the car they installed a B20 motor that had been gone through and had replaced timing gears, cam, carb overhaul, and clutch. The suspension was then sorted with new upper and lower control arm bushings, ball joints, Koni shocks, 5.5 inch wide steel wheels and new Michelin tires.

We have all original books and warranty documents with the stamped service history.

This is a dry Southwest car with no rust except some corrosion around the battery tray.

Mechanically it is solid and spry performer. The transmission shifts well, the brakes stop the car with authority and all lights and features function as they should. This is a fun car to drive.

As we tried to show in the pictures the body has some issues. Although there is no evidence of any major collisions there are some dents and scratches and paint work.

The interior is complete with a good headliner and decent upholstery though the fabric welting is tattered as are the rubber floor mat and dash pad.

We have additional photos of the undercarriage and body to show the rust free nature of the car. We are setting up a Dropbox account and will post a link when done for those that are interested.
