1975 Volvo 240

This is a custom built Volvo Wagon like no other! I've used it as my daily driver & road trip vehicle for the past three years. It started life as a original 1975 245 DL station wagon, but has been upgraded to later Volvo components, featuring later hub spindles, 1031 rear end, later EFI fuel system, subframe, etc.


The vehicle now sports fully boxed control arms & trailing arms, adjustable torque rods and panhard bar, with full polyurethane bushings. Suspension is custom coilovers with customs tuned Bilstein shocks & struts, quick steer knuckles with roll center correction and IPD sway bars...handles like its on rails! Brakes are a full Brembo 6-piston/4-piston setup with 13" rotors front and rear.
Other features include Eaton True-Trac LSD with 3.91 gears, Borg Warner T5 transmission from Mustang and, of course, the elusive Volvo 16-valve Turbo motor. It runs strong and dependably on Bosch LH2.2/EZK engine management. A custom built 3" exhaust keeps it sounding amazing.
So much work has gone into this car, so many details. European front grill, headlight bug shields, Hella lighting, serpentine belt conversion, lightweight flywheel, Bride Digo seats, Personal wood steering wheel, R-Sport Gauge Cluster, ESR gold 17" wheels...it goes on.
This has been my daily use vehicle for three years, and I've made frequent road trips to Tahoe and Los Angeles in this car. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across country. I've gotten anywhere between 20-27mpg, depending on how heavy my right foot was.
It's in amazing shape, though the paint does show its age, and there are a few little rust spots. This custom build was created, about three years ago...the car has under 25k miles on it, since constructed, and most of the parts are no older than that. I've kept a comprehensive maintenance & repairs log, since it's been on the road.
This car is looking for a new home!
