1968 Volvo Other

Up for sale is a 1968 1800S. The car needs a total restoration, but overall it is a great candidate for someone with the time, money and ability. I purchased the car almost 5 years ago with the intent to learn how to repair/restore it, but as is usually the case, family comes first.
The bad: the car has not been started in quite some time, definitely not since I've owned it. The motor does still turn over though. It has the usualVolvo rust issues...the battery tray, the front quarters near the headlights, the rocker panels, the bottom of the rear quarters and the rear deck lid. The hood and roof look like surface rust, and should be repairable. The front quarters are in quite bad shape. I gutted most of the interior. I have the original back seats, the fronts and the interior panels (in black), but these pieces are all pretty rough. There are a few places that rust has eaten through, but the floors are surprisingly solid. The brakes, clutch, engine, transmission and exhaust will all need attention. I do not have a title for this car. It was basically out of laziness and/or just waiting until I really got going with the restoration, which never really happened. It should be fairly easy to obtain one in New Jersey.
The good: believe it or not, there is some good. I have quite a bit of new or refurbished parts for this car. I was able to locate both L and R hand front quarters that are in much better shape than what's still on the car. The panels will have to be cut and welded, but I have them. I have refurbished Fuel, Tach, Oil and Speedo gauges. These are in excellent condition. A couple of the original gauges thatcame withthe carand are included in the sale are repairable in my opinion, including the elusive clock and the Heater gauge. Among the other restoration parts that are included are a replacement hood panel, rear panel (basically the piece that runs from one tail light assembly to the other), new front turn signal assemblies, new rear light assemblies and some pieces from Wolfsteel: both L and R rear quarter inner panels and the 3 piece inner rear valance panels. I have several repair books as well as a very helpful laminated, full-color wiring diagram that I'll include with the car.
I have the hard to find grill surround. It's in fairly good shape, but could use a rechroming. I have both the front and rear 3-piece bumper assembly, which are in fair condition. I have the front chrome headlight bezels, both L and R sidechrome body trimstrips and the original Volvo hubcaps, allin fairly good condition.
As I said, while the car needs a total restoration, the bones are here. I really don't want to sell it, and have debated for awhile about whether to keep it or sell it. Unfortunately I don't have a garage at my house, so it's at a family member's house almost an hour away. There are literally dozens of websites devoted to selling both original and reproduction parts for these Volvos...irollmotors, ipdusa and Wolfsteel to name a few.
Obviously the car will have to be picked up either with a flat bed or tow truck. I am not able to deliver this car. I'll be more than happy to assist with pushing the car out of the garage it currently sits in. The car is available to view. You would just have to contact me to make arrangements.
