You are bidding on an amazing, ompletely rust free (matching number pan) European "gray market" 1958 Volkswagen Beetle. This very special Beetle features the small rear "Snowflake" brake light/reflectors, riginal B-pillar Semaphore flip-out turn signals, eadlamps with the turn signals inside the glass headlamp covers, ocking steering column, ull reclining front bucket seats, lock, nd fuel gauge. She is fitted with the more attractive US high chrome bumpers (I think better looking than the lower Euro bumper). Everything on the car is still labeled in German... VIN info, ir cleaner instructions, abels, tc. Very cool.
A beautiful car, he's undergone an extentensive and gorgeous extended restoration over a number of years, ncluding a rebuilt correct 36HP Type I 1200cc engine, ebuilt four-speed transmission, ew clutch, ew brake lines and associated components, epacked wheel bearings, tc. She runs beautifully and is very reliable. Original 6 volt system throughout.
The undercarriage has been cleaned and sealed in a durable clear, OT painted... you can see it is all original and perfectly rust-free. The VIN on the pan matches the VIN number on the ID tag. The suspension, heel wells, nd wheels have been restored and repainted. Brand new shocks all around, rand new tires all around, he drives very nicely. Rare parts such as the fuel cap, il cap, ear ash tray, ne-year-only sun visors, tc. are all present. There currently is no radio or speaker in the uncut original dash.
The exterior has an almost new beautiful repaint in the original Agave Metallic gold/green color, one in high-end 2-stage RM Diamont urethane enamel and clear coat. She's got a few minor nicks, tc. but still shows wonderfully, ven up close. The only body blemis to really note is a small crack in the hinge side of the hood and a small mark on the passenger rear fender... the hood only has one hinge and is notorious for this crack. The glass is the original German Sekurit glass and in great condition, ith new rubber, elt, tc. Side windows roll up and down smoothly. Doors are hung perfectly and open/close with ease.
The interior is also gorgeous, nd features the original headliner and door panels (fantastic condition), ew carpet, ew seat upholstery, nd new dash paint to match. Original green plastic sun visors, ront and rear ashtrays, nrestored original steering column, hifter, rake lever, edals, tc. Very nice speedo showing the original 85k miles. Rare options include the locking steering column, uxiliary fuel gauge, nd matching clock, s well as the fully-reclining front bucket seats on original frames. The lights, eater, ipers, ocking steering, tarter button, harging system, tc. all work as they should... wiring is all original 6-volt generator system with wires changed only as needed. It does come with the original spare wheel and tire, s well as the original jack. The original Semaphores are present but not connected; one works, ne does not (bench tested). The fuel gauge works (bench tested), he sending unit does not. The clock is not currently running. Bob Koch (among others) offers rebuilt exchange units, nd rebuilding services. The horn works (bench tested), ut does not blow from the center steering wheel button... I have not trouble-shot this.
The speedometer, ights, ront turn signals (except flip-out semaphores), rake lights, ipers, tc. are all in proper working order. The heater works properly, s does the parking brake. Again, ires and shocks are brand-new, nd the car runs and drives extremely well.
This is a turn-key running and driving classic that will only go up in value. Clear title, atches VIN exactly for export, nspection, tc.
