Description:

1960 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Deluxe Ragtop - Sunroof

* The Ragtop will now sell as is, will not have the time necessary to work on it. I will also be leaving for out of state by Dec. 27 and won`t be back until March. Because of this, his is a one time auction now. If it does not sell, will deal with it next year.

Beetle was listed a few weeks ago, ntil a mechanical problem caused me to end the auction. I had done a complete tune up as well as coil, attery and voltage regulator. As luck would have it, hen thefloat stuck in the carburetor, hich cause fuel to end up in the vacuum advance canister. This ruined the diaphragm. I have purchased a vacuum advance and will go with car. This will either be done, r parts will go with the new owner as their first project for the car. Yes, t starts although running rough I believe could be run up / on a trailer. No, ot driving this one home. The rest of the text ( for the most part ) is from the last auction.

I purchased this VW Beetle late October, ere on Ebay. I have aserious family issue thatneeds addressed( This has now been paid for so the car is now selling to recoup what I can ).

I drove from Michiganto Maine and trailered the car home. A look at my feedbackwill showthe adwith description / pictures from previous owner( look for josh-13 feedback ).The previous owner owned the Beetle since the early 90s, nd had the Beetle restoredapprox. 1995. The Beetle was from Louisiana in 92-93. I have trophies and Ribbons from the Ragtop being shown over the last 2 decadesat local level car shows.

Once I had the car home, realized the battery ( 6 volt system ) was not holding a charge. I bought a new 6 volt battery andalso put on a correct ground cable for the battery. Also performed tune up ect...already mentioned.

The body and pan are reallynice, ne of the cleanest cars I have ever seen / owned ( I do not buy rust ). The passenger side pan has had approx. 1/2 replaced, rofessionally.

I knew thebrakes pulled hard to the left when first driven. Although considerablybetter, otential buyer should look at all 4 corners due to the car having sat for the better part of 15 years with minimal use.

Lights, urn signals, nd brake lights all work as they should. Radio works but signal is weak. Horn is in-operable and I have not looked into it. The gas gauge ( added at some point ) appears to be accurate. Seats are nice with added padding for more comfortwhen redone. Rear seat has small tears at the bottom front corners, ut are not really noticeable. Door panels are old, aybe original.Carpet and mats are nice. Bamboo shelf added. Dash is very nice, othing cut (main dash).

Interior...The headliner is the cloth type. Over the years, t has drawn in some, nd has some staining although not terrible, ndsmall tears where lower rear seat rubs when lifting up and lowering back into place. It also Replacing the headliner anda new door panel set would finish the interior off nicely.

Exterior... There are a few scratches in the paint, ut over all thepaint isextremely nice for a driver with a nice high gloss shine. There are no dings or dents to speak of. The exteriorcolorCeramic Green was only offered in 1960. I believe the bumpers to beolder reproductions and are driver quality. I cleanedthe set up andthey look decent with a nice shine. The door handles have pitting. All rubbers around theglass / door jams are nice, oft and look as new.All glass except windshield are the original German glass, nd nice. The ragtop / sunroof functions as it should.

Tires are Michelins, lthough unsure of age, hey arelike new and run fine with no flat spots. I see virtually no leaks of any significance so far from the underside. 2nd gear is tricky, although I am much better with it than initially. I`ve had this checked / driven by a certified mechanic restorer, nd the opinion is its not serious. The previous ownerhad anengine rebuild with new clutch whilethe restoration was done.

This is This is a very clean, arly ragtop. I was told that this is a numbers matching car. I have verified that the chassis numbers and tag under the hood both match 301 3044 ( VIN ).

Feel free to ask questions, will do my best to answer. I am an older adult and have sold many vehicles here, m and as honest as they come.Bid with confidence. My feedback speaks for itself. Good Luck

**I would like to see this sold before the holidays.
