Description:

1974 Volkswagen Other

For sale is my 1974 VW Bus. It breaks my heart to give it up knowing how much potential this bus has, but my hope is to pass this amazing gem along to another loving home.

I can't say enough good things about the condition of this bus. There is minimal rust on the surface as well as underneath the bus. The interior is in good shape as well, but this is where most of the renovations will take place so if you have some time and dedication I have no doubt you will be able to create the home on wheels that you dream of.

That being said I recently had the entire engine completely rebuilt that was completed on December 13th, 2018, as well as the replacement of other parts of the bus. All complete with VW parts. This bus only has roughly 90,000 miles on it, which is amazing! Since the rebuilt I haven't had any issues with the bus regarding how it runs. It shifts smoothly. No slippage in the transmission. Starts right up with no problems. And since the rebuild I've only put about 1,000 miles and had it's first tune-up.

I had the bus repaired at "Kotter's VW”, a local shop around San Diego that specializes in Volkswagens.

As far as the interior goes, much is already included but it will need a little TLC to make it look and feel like a true camper. It includes a sink, refrigerator (both of which are inoperable at the moment), a bed that folds out and can sleep 2 people, a pop top that can sleep another 1-2 people, a small closet and racks to store shoes/clothes/other supplies, cabinets to store food, pans, utensils, etc, and a storage space under the bed. However, there is no AC or heater installed. The pop top is more similar to that of a Riviera, however the interior is modeled more after a Westfalia. The pop top is functional and pops up with no problems but it will need a new canvas since the current one is ripped.

I really hope to find this bus a loving home where it can be well taken care of and given the proper attention it deserves.

I am asking $15,000 based on the current value, condition, and newly rebuilt engine of the bus, but I am willing to reasonably negotiate. Serious inquiries only please. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for taking a look!
