I'm learning the van and have it running wonderfully! Totally exceeds my expectations in performance. NEW Exhaust Box.Full disclosure I actually purchased this to convert to a poptop ala retired Westfalia parts. In a couple of years of looking this is the best example of ANY later Vanagon I've come across at a reasonable price.Think about it, Rusted, Tired Westy's are over 10K Here's something superb for 1/2 the amount and have heard you can actually get new tops. However, I'm not really equipped with the wearwithal or frankly xtra money to accomplish this feat.Spent many hours doing cosmetic repairs which am experienced at, some soft panel dents which pulled with glue tabsI just installed a new gas filter and got the little allen head screws loose on the throttle control body which was way off. It now has consistent 950 idle under all conditions runs like a champ even on Garden state holding 68 mph is nothing with occasional bursts to 75 just did an 127 mile drive seem to be getting about 18 mpg.Never even slightly overheated tho at even center setting the Fans cycle on.
** I already sold vehicle and have it relisted no pay no show! This is an E-bay Listing to be paid for using paypal which accepts all C-cards. If you make an accepted offer you MUST make payment in 24 hours ~(Actually immediately preferred)~ BEFORE previewing or making appointmentto pay balance of vehicle. Last buyer seemed think that the accepted offer just allowed him the right to preview and evaluate the van then Making offer Ending my very Hotly viewed Listing in a week or so, like was a Craiglist sale! Cost me an lot of aggravation and MONEY$$This is truly exceptional mechanically and more importantly bodily. Absolute minimal rust (like a Cal car) and none underneath, seems never to have been hit though are some little soft dents on panels and on roof. Fiberglass Bumpers have a few rough corners. ALL doors have that beautiful aligned sound and feel. All the locks and gauges wipers, sprayers blinkers adjusted correctly. Even all the little interior lights on/off with door opening closings.
