1964 VW 21 original window bus completly restored

1964 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

This original 1964 21 window bus will be completed in about a month its been about a three year project. All body wor, paint and assembly was done by one person. Body was completely stripped of all parts and put on a rotisserie for all work to be done . All rust was cut out and replaced with new metal and all metal under the rust was blasted to good metal and sealed before new metal was installed . No filler was used to cover up any holes if there was rust it was replaced with new metal and epoxy primed before paint. The only filler used on this bus was a lite coat to smooth out the panels very little. I have over 600 photo's of the work in progress I will have to put on a link.The bus is straight with nice gaps at all doors.I had a new front beam built with ball joints also has new front disc brakes. I had Ronnie at busterations built the complete transaxle drum to drum with new freeway flyer transmission even the reduction boxes are rebuilt everything is like new. I also had Ronnie build a new 1776 motor everything new even the cases nothing rebuilt . The motor dynode at 83 HP. New complete sunroof and trim,all belt line trim and bumper trim from grumpy's they have great parts. Most glass is new most is tinted .There was only a few items I could not buy new but I had those all rebuilt such as the steering box, reduction boxes and wiper motor everything else is new. This is a complete restoration to Barrett Jackson standards, every latc, screw, ro, arm, handle if I could buy it is new if I could not buy a new one I had the old one restored to look like new. All new wiring, wheels blasted and painted with five new tires and new hub caps.All new bumper pieces except the back blade which was fine all newly painted just not in pics yet

I did not restore everything to factory standards but this is the original colors. It has a new two tone interiorinstead of the boring original color, it has a well made custom wood steering wheel, I did not want to put the stock headliner in it because I don't like the way they look so I had all the inside metal done nicely and painted. I have not decided on a custom headliner yet or the new owner can do that. Busis stock height and I do have clear fl title. Bus has all serial number plates and stamp intact it is an original 21 window bus. The bus is not completed yet but very close other than the headliner I do not plan to drive the bus other than the normal test drive to make sure everything is right then it will be back locked up so it will be like getting a new bus.
