1978 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

I am selling this because I have too many cars and I don't have time to enjoy it. With a new battery it started after sitting for 2-1/2 years. The tires held air the entire time, just a little low. The brakes are solid. It has been garage kept climate controlled for about 10 years since I've owned it. If you desire to completely restore this it will be expensive, but if you are looking for a decent looking car that is ready to drive this is a good car. The top will need to be replaced because it has shrunk on the sides and has a few cracks, but it is still pliable, and the frame opens and closes smoothly so it should recover nicely. Large tear in drivers seat.The front bumper is rusty, but solid. I ordered a new bumper from JC Whitney, but the metal was so thin that I returned it. It would be better to get this one re-chromed. The doors shut very solid with no binding which can be common in convertibles. Window all operate nice and easy. All lights work fine. You will need to replace the right front hood hinge/spring. I took it out on the interstate tonight and forgot to latch the hood after taking the pictures and it blew up and twisted the right hinge - ugh. The hood appears to be ok, but there is some damage/paint chipping on the body, shown in pictures. The pictures show the hood sitting on the car - hinges unbolted. Includes a cover, a brand new bra, and a set of new inside door panels. You will need to install door speakers, but the wiring is still good. Includes a spare engine if you want itIdon't remember the history on the extra engine - parts only.
