1979 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

The original owner who kept owners books and lit as well as many receipts, raded it in on a new VW in 2012 where it sat in the showroom as a display until I bought it last fall. Has window sticker and original sales order. The owners manual and warranty book are included. There are a number of receipts that are in the original owners name and date from new until 2012 when he traded it in. Car was delivered 3-1-79 and cost 6245.00.It had new heat exchangers and muffler installed 500 miles ago. I had it tuned up and the brakes adjusted. The fuel injection works well. The car is quiet and smooth. Everything- including the windshield washers-work. These late bug are very drivable, eared high and go down the road 70 without a problem. It is quiet and smooth, tears and handles very well. The car looks like new with thick, hiny paint, ice top, arpeting is not worn or dirty. The drivers seat has some small cracks on the bottom bolster otherwise interior is perfect. Not faded or worn. The dash has no cracks or shrinkage issues. Under the hood and trunk are very nice and clean with no sign of prior damage.Original owner drove it very little-it was not an everyday driver. Receipts reflect mileage climbing to 35,122 in 1996 averaging 2000 per year then the speedo quit working. He had the speedo replaced in 2004. Adding his average of 2000 miles per year the 7 years the speedo was down would add 14,000 to the 35,122 making the miles it would put it at around 55,000 including the miles presently. There is a receipt from 2007 at 4552. It shows 6500 now. All receipts have his name on them until 2012. Odometers were notorious for stopping on super bugs-this one has one owner documentation. Many will claim actual miles with no documentation. The Shifter and handbrake have very little paint wear-the pedals and steering wheel are not worn. This looks and feels and smells like a low mile car. There is no evidence of prior body damage. The paint looks exactly like original-same texture and depth. The jams have no evidence of paint-the seals has no overspray. The top looks and fits perfectly-no rips or stretching/pulling. Windows roll as they should. There is no rust on the body. Floors look nice and clean. The last 3 pictures are of the underside near the driver's floor and the heater channel on the driver's side. It has a period Sony AM/F/M cassette deck that sounds pretty decent. There are 2 top boots-a nice original and a high quality canvass-looking one as well.
