1973 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

1973 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Limited Edition Sports Ghia with original window sticker documenting the @Sports Ghia@. I recently acquired this car from the original owner. He was 83 years old. This is a rust free California born car. It spent most of its life in the dry Midwest. AZ and NM. The car has less than 100,000 miles on it from new. It has spent the last 30 years as a weekend car that was parked in the garage at all times. It was rarely driven over the last 5 years do to the owners age. He did tell me that he would start it often. I replaced the interior Seats (brown), door panels (cream) and sound deadening material. I refurbished most of the original carpet. It is quality stuff. I basically torn down the interior to the pan and replaced or refurbished everything. The car smells new inside. The Sport Wheels are perfect with the center caps clean and undamaged. The top is great with no leaks or tears. The top was replaced in late 1990's by a professional company. I believe the car had a respray. The decals are no longer with the car. This car was purchased on June 11, 1973 from Ogner Motors in Hollywood California. This dealership was seven miles from the famous Competition Motors. I have the original Sales Contract and Window sticker. The window sticker acknowledges the fact that this is a Limited Edition Sports Ghia. I was told by a very respected VW Ghia Enthusiast that I might have the only 1973 Sports Ghia Con. with full original documentation. This car has perfect provenance. I am putting this car on Ebay because the same car (not mine) was just for sale on Ebay and it was taken down after only 2 days and high bidding. My starting price is an Or-Best-Offer price. Please get ahold of me if you need more pictures or if you want to make me an offer. I reserve the right to take the ad down at any time during the auction. The car will be available locally as well. Thanks for reading my ad. Good luck bidding. Opportunity knocks for someone interested in a very rare Volkswagen. This car will not lose value ever. If the buyer arranges shipping, I will work with the shippers to make sure it gets sent off safe and sound.
**There are a few marks on the car. The previous owner drove the car slowly against a bike peddle on the drivers side door. You can see the a light layer of Epoxy filler on the door. The driver door also was opened beyond the door stops and slightly dented where the other light layer of Epoxy filler is. The right front by the head light was slowly bumped into the side of the garage. There is a small crack in the left front fender well. There is a small dent on the license plate light housing. Two small cracks in the plastic by the radio. The rest of the car is perfect.
I have the rear over riders. They are just off the car because I am replacing the rubber seals. Please note that the starting bid has no reserve and I will consider any reasonable offer under that amount. This car is super clean, it drives beautifully and handles like a porsche. It is amazing how this car takes corners. It is also very rare and fully documented with ownership history and original sales contract and window sticker.
