This Karmann Ghia was restored using the chassis of a 1968 with the body of a 1966 and is legally registered as a 1966. The advantage is you get the look of the older Ghia but with the safety and performance upgrades of the 1968 (more powerful engine, sturdier suspension, 12 volt electrical, better steering, smoother transmission and this Ghia has DISC BRAKES!!) Volkswagen never offered a 1966 black and red color combo so this is a totally custom made car. This car is car to drive and not a flawless "show car" since it was made from 2 different Ghias however it still manages to win awards based or it's excellent condition! This car has not been in rain or even wet from washing in 10 years so it is truly RUST FREE. The car is garage kept and polished to perfection and driven about 100 miles per year. The car runs beautifully and is serviced regularly for routine maintenance. Tires are all good, new battery, new brakes, new transmission and engine sparkles. The wipers are slow and I never fixed since it's not driven in the rain. Odometer does not move so miles are unknown. Heat was disconnected since this is and LA car and only used in perfect weather.
