Punch Buggy, No Punch Backs! VIDEO LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFYWe5kWi1I Our latest arrival is this eye-popping Poppy Red 1969 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible! Believed to be a 2-owner car, this Beetle has accumulated just 5,700 miles since a complete frame-off restoration completed in 2011 (True Chassis Miles Unknown). Sold by Montgomery County VW on May 21, 1969 and owned locally in Montgomery County, MD for its entire life, this Beetle was with its previous owner since 1992. Condition is excellent inside and out, with no expenses spared on the $50,000+ restoration. Exterior: The original Poppy Red was resprayed during the restoration and shows extremely well with a deep shine. Chrome work is bright and free of major pitting, bumpers are straight with no dents. All rubber seals and weatherstripping are new. The recently replaced convertible top is in great shape and operates smoothly. Includes the original owners manual, original jack and what is believed to be the original spare tire. Interior: The interior was also completely restored with fully reupholstered front and rear seats in black vinyl and new dash pad. The white headliner is in equally great shape. Red-painted accents pop inside the cabin on the upper doors, dash grill and glovebox door, shift and handbrake levers. A beach crusier-style basket tray is mounted below the dash. Modern conveniences include a new Sony Bluetooth headunit with XM Radio. A cigarette-lighter style charging port is also available under the dash to keep your phone charged while you cruise. Drivetrain: As expected, the drivetrain in this Beetle is as well-sorted as the rest of the car. The motor is an upgraded dual-port 1600cc unit sourced from a 1971 Beetle (as compared to the original single-port 1500cc motor). Power comes on smoothly with no hiccups. The 4-speed transmission shifts very smoothly with no grinds. Brakes are excellent and tires are new with the restoration (~5k miles).
