Description:

1973 Volkswagen Thing

These are getting rare. Here is a good candidate for a restoration. The floors are solid with the exception of under the battery tray. Both rockers have rust damage at the rear sections.I removed the bondo from the left side. The right is similar. The left rear fender needs straightening out. The windshield frame is rusted at the ends. I have another windshield frame that is in better condition with the exception of the bottom seal channel. The left rear door has bondo at the bottom. I have a solid door to replace it. The front trunk bottom is rusted thru. The top and side curtains will need to be reupholstered. The top frame has some header rust but is functional. It has a roll bar installed. It has a clean Florida title. Again this has some body rust I will include photos of the worst areas. I can email specifics if necessary. If you are unsure of something, please send me a message and I will try to get you as much information as possible. It is currently registered and insured. It runs and drives. I have driven it 100 miles round trip without an issue. I replaced all 4 wheel cylinders and studded the brake drums (replaced the lug bolts with studs and locking lug nuts). The brakes work but still feel a little mushy. Either they are all like this or it may need bleeding or a master cylinder. The left rear wheel bearing may need replacement. On a right turn you can hear the drum rub the brake shoes. The wheels and tires are 1 year old. The left rear wheel is a little scraped up on the back side when the lugbolts fell off. This does not hurt appearance or functionality.
If you have any concerns, I will try to answer them quickly and accurately.
