Description:

1972 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

Here we have beautiful 1972 Westy. I found this bus in Chicago earlier this year, but it spent its first 34 years in Jacksonville. Its super solid bearing 99% of its original german metal. The battery tray has been patched and a 4" section under the drivers clutch pedal. Since ive got it i have repainted it, it had been spray painted several different colors. Im no professional body man, but its a very nice job. The following parts and brand spanking new and ive only put 4 miles on it since ive installed it all.New starterBatteryRebuilt gas pedal linkageDrag linkWindshieldIgnition switchCapRotorPointsCondenserClutch kitWheel cylinder brake lines and soft linesCoilWiresEngine sealRear main seal4 brand new tires mounted 10/31/16Front emblemWiper bladesRebuilt carbsCheckered cargo floorSome interior paint.
The interior is 100% original and unmolested. Included is the childs cot and bug screens. The pop top is in fair condition for it age. Its original to the bus and I like that sort of thing. You may want it all brand new, but its functional as is. The upper cot is in nice shape as well as the childs cot. The jump seat, sink, ice box and jalousie windows are all original, intact and in good shape. The bus tracks down the road nice and smooth and shifts thru all gear with ease. No grinding or popping out of gear what so ever. The engine was upgraded at some point from the 1.7 liter to a 2.0 liter. Its got real nice power. Basically this bus is ready to be enjoyed immediately. It looks great and runs and drives great. I didn't want to let it go, but I just bought a old porsche and id like to get some money to help get that restored. This is a wonderful machine that you and your family can enjoy for many years to come. Thanks for viewing this beaut and happy bidding!!
