1979 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Karmann

Drive away in this final edition Karmann Super Beetle convertible! We're the 2nd-owners of this 1979 bug, and have had the car since approximately 1984.
Very low miles, as it was mostly a weekend driver and stayed in the garage. It runs great and starts up on the first try. Lots of recent upgrades and recent work detailed below. Also, some rust. Descriptions here are as accurate and honest as possible. If we've forgotten anything, please ask!
Engine: *new* 1600 DP engine installed by local mechanic a few years ago, but very low miles. I'd estimate 1000 miles or less. Converted to Solex carb.
Brakes: recent brake fluid flush. All new brake hoses. All new brake slave cylinders on each wheel.
Fuel system: Gas tank flushed and all new fuel lines.
Electrical: Everything works - even the original quartz clock! New battery 2 months ago. Alpine stereo.
Body: It's been repainted the original white color once (many years ago), but looks fine. No major dings or dents, but a few scratches. Never in an accident. However, there is visible rust on the lower parts of some of the body panels (see photos). Running boards are likely rusted under the rubber covers (straightforward to replace). There is also rust on the floor pans as well.
Interior: All original. Needs a thorough cleaning. Front seat covers are showing their age. Front seat cushions have more or less disintegrated and foam should be replaced for a more comfortable ride.
Convertible parts: Everything is there and works. Top goes up and down smoothly. Top canvas was replaced several years ago, but still looks good.
Tires: Usable and not showing obvious signs of age, but age is unknown. It would be prudent to get new tires before any extended driving.
Transmission: Original. Shifts nicely.
Extras: green car cover
Odometer reads 58492 and this is likely accurate total miles (hasn't rolled over)
