1974 Volkswagen Thing1974 VW Thing for Sale 1974 Volkswagen Thing for Sale Buy This Classic 1974 VW Thing Original Paint, Mechanically excellent, Solid Arizona Body, All you could ask for in a VW THING
Here is a great example of a 1974 VW Thing. If you are looking for a Thing that is ready to go this is a great option for you. The current owner bought the car from a collector in Arizona. The current owner likes his cars to be completely sorted mechanically so in the past two years much has been done to this 1974 VW Thing to get it running and driving perfectly.
VW Things are so fun to own. They are like a transformer and they can be utilitarian with the rear seats folded down for cargo, they can be safari vehicles with the doors removed and the windshield folded down, or they can be passenger vehicles with all the seats up. VW Things are one of the only four door convertibles ever made.
This example is from Arizona which explains the nice solid body. And amazingly this VW Thing is still in original paint! It looks great, but if a person really wanted to improve the looks the car could be waxed and polished. But as it sits it is a very authentic Thing that should continue to increase in value as original vehicles are typically among the highest valued examples.
This VW Thing has:
- New shocks
- New brakes including new wheel cylinders and powder coated drums
- Electronic ignition (replaces the points in the distributor reducing maintenance and break downs)
- A recent oil change with "Green" oil with Zinc for longer engine life
- New tires (original wheels are included with the sale)
- A roll bar for safety
- A powder coated front bumper with push bar
- Removable side windows (side curtains) in very good shape
- The original window sticker and owner's manual!!
This is one of the most original VW Things you'll find for sale. As with many classic Volkswagens since there is no 100k place in the odometer the original mileage is unknown. But there are thousands of dollars in receipts that come with this example. I have taken photos of all the suspension and undercarriage to show how solid this car is. This is a vehicle you can jump in and enjoy exactly as it sits. If you're in the market for a VW Thing in great shape, this is the one for you. Worldwide shipping available!!
