Description:

1973 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

I have owned this car since September 2014. I am the third owner. It is garage kept, 100% of the time. It just passed 103,400 miles, with a clear title (note to potential buyers: be wary of Ghia auctions with "low" "original" miles; the odometer resets back to 0 miles at 100,000).
The previous ownerhad "her" since 1999. This owner also kept the car in a garage and never had an accident.
This awesome Ghia has been extremely reliable butisn't driven on a regular basis. I want someone to enjoy her dailyso I have to part with her. Idrive only in fair weather which isn't common incentral Texas. It does leak a little oil from a pushrod tube on the passenger side, but not really that much (enough to mark its spot; needing about a quart every 2000 miles).
While in the originalowner’s possession, the car was rear‐ended and the body damaged. The rear clip of the car was replaced with the rear clip of a ’70 model, and the repair is unnoticeable except for the smaller (and more nicely‐shaped) rear tail light lenses. With its performance upgrades (dual carbs, header/extractor exhaust, electronic ignition, smaller sport steering wheel, upgraded shocks, etc.) it accelerates and handles much better than a stock vintage model, is easier to drive and requires less maintenance (no filing of points; dual carbs don't ice up and bog like a single carb setup), and has a very nice sounding modern stereo system as well. Heater system works well in the winter, with fresh air vents in the dash and rear for defrosting (no A/C for
summer, but it's not too hot with the windows rolled down). Stock 1600cc dual port engine is very strong with plenty of low and midrange torque for sporty acceleration. The paint is Porsche Speed Yellow in great condition, and needless to say, it turns a lot of heads. This is a car that is ready to drive and be enjoyed!!
This beauty comes with a car cover, touch up paint, original owner’s manual, stereo manual, VW "Idiot's guide," wiring diagrams and carb sync instructions.
