Description:

1974 Triumph TR-6

OK everyone says they have an original TR6. Well, this one is pretty darn close. This is almost a one owner car since the first 6000 miles were put on the car by the real first owner in the first 4 months before he decided, as fun as it was it was to drive, it was too hard for him to get in and out at 6’ 5”. After the first two years in Columbus, OH (ie, for the last 41 years), we have done limited, but very fun, joy riding and parading every summer and the car has been always kept in a garage. The car has not been restored but I did have a new top put on it 2 years ago as the plastic on the old roof was no longer transparent. Other than that, the car has only had routine maintenance and replacement of whatever small part that needed replacing. The carburetors have never needed adjustment and the car runs beautifully. The car has 32,800 actual miles on it and is in great shape for its age (more than I can say for me). The tires are the original red wall Michelins which still have good tread and hold air fine but have the obvious age and long or high speed trips would be unwise. The fuel gauge is not working at this point, has been off and on. Most of the car looks new in and out. There is only occasional slight surface rust (engine bay and underneath the car) but nothing significant all significant metal is solid. Again it is original and not restored but it would be easy to make it near perfect without any ground up-craziness. The family is very attached to this car but no one has room to keep it and I am now retired and am reducing my heavy metal load. Like the original owner, it is now difficult for me to get in and out. The starting bid is very rational, but the car is obviously sold as is and if I get an offer I can’t refuse the car may be removed from the auction. Thanks for reading and contact me if you want to visit or drive the TR6.
