Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this decent and very original TR-6 in nice period colors. The TR-6 was one of the great last sports cars that Triumph built and is a very popular and affordable classic today. This car was just purchased from it's long term Texas owner who was thinning out his car collection. It is understood that the car has sat in his garage from 1997 to present.
The body on this car is very straight and still showing it's mostly original paint !!! The trunk lid was repainted at some point a little darker shade than the rest of the car. The car needs it's outer rockers replaced along with some minor repairs to the inners, which should be a straightforward process then painted/undercoated to match . The frame, floors, and trunk floor all appear very good to excellent. There is also some a repair needed on the tips of front and rear LH fenders. All of the panels open and close well as per factory gapping. The interior trim on this car is fairly original with retrimmed front seats. The soft top is in very good condition with no tears and fits nice. The carpets are getting thin in some areas. The wood dashboard could use replacing. The trunk could use a fiber board kit, but includes the lug wrench, hold down, and spare rim (not pictured). The gauges and switchgear all look good.
The correct engine in the car turns easily by hand and with a little work should run. The engine bay is all original paint matching the car and would detail up very nicely. There is some surface rust on the battery box area, but it's solid. The original cardboard air ducting needs replacing. The car is fitted with new tires and a restored set of road wheels.
Overall, a nice original needing some TLC and repairs to preserve it in it's nice survivor condition.
