Description:

1966 Toyota Stout

Introduced in 1964 the Toyota Stout is maybe the coolest old Toyota truck of all.Inspired by American trucks, the wrap around windshield and cool cab make it a super cool little truck. This Stout was a farm truck in Reardan, Washington, right in the middle of Ford and Chevy country. It was eventually replaced on the farm and brought to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho a few years ago. It was a project between my brother and I who was a long time car collector and passed away 2 years ago. We must downsize and this is the first of many classic vehicles to go. We will have several old Toyotas and many other cars and trucks for sale in the coming months, see our other auctions!
The Stout needed a carburetor rebuild so I obtained a kit and the carburetor was removed but we decided a Weber carb would be better. My brother passed to the next realm soon after and I have not had time to get a Weber and install it. The original carb and air cleaner lid have been misplaced but I will look for them or can assist in locating replacements. The truck was running good but not steady due to the carburetor. We installed the 16" Mazda rims and were looking forward to driving it. My brother had a green 67 Stout that I sold for him on eBay in 2008 and they are amazing little trucks. It has a 4 speed on the steering column which I've only seen on these and some rare 60s Italian cars. Cab corner rust is common on all 60s trucks and especially these old Toyotas, but the rest of the truck is amazingly solid, except for some small rust through on the drivers floor. I wish I had time to finish this truck but it is time for a new owner to step in.
