Description

Hello up For Sale is my 1982 Toyota Sr542,000 original miles

Some of the options are: bucket seats, 5-speed, center console, A/C, sunroof, rear sliding window, carpet, factory radio.

Condition: Excellent. Some scratches and a small dent on passenger side fender.

I'm selling this stunning 1982 Toyota Sr5 that only has 42k original miles on it.

The truck means a lot to me as the previous owner was a local teacher who a very close friend of mine.

We were neighbors while I was growing up and he taught at the same school I went to, but surprisingly I never had him for any of my classes.

Instead we became friends because my father was often out of town for business trips and my neighbor would offer to keep me company while my mother did things around the house or made dinner. His name was Mr. Arellano and his children had all grown and left home, so he had a lot of free time.

He'd play catch with me in my yard and tell me stories about when his kids were young or when he was young or about his wife.

I really loved all his stories and in a way Mr. Arellano was like a second father to me.

One day Mr. Arellano came home with this brand-new Toyota Sr5 and it just looked so amazing.

I had never seen anything like it before and spent so much time at Mr. Arellano's house just admiring it.

We had an old 1970 Pontiac Bonneville and it was nothing compared to this beauty.

It was always in his garage when not in use, and whenever he did use it he made sure to keep it polished and cleaned like new.

There's a reason why it only has 42,000 original miles on it after nearly 30 years.

His kids would come by to visit sometimes and always joked that he treated the truck better than he ever treated any of them.

On the weekends when he was doing maintenance work on the truck, Mr. Arellano would let me climb inside and turn the radio on so pretend I was driving it.

I would ask Mr. Arellano about all the features and repeat them over and over like I was some sort of car salesman...bucket seats, 5-speed, center console, A/C, sunroof, rear sliding window, carpet, and factory radio. The truck really is a gem.

When he passed a last year ago, I learned he still had that truck and his kids had no interest in it and were planning on selling it.

I immediately put an offer on the truck and purchased it from them.

When I came to pick it up, it looked just the same as always.

Paint in excellent condition and totally rust free.

I've not really used it much since buying it - mostly wanted it to as a keepsake.

I try to keep it in the same condition that Mr. Arellano would've wanted it to be in.

I have taken it around a few times though and since I've owned it there have been a few minor scratches and a small golf-ball sized dent on the passenger side fender.

Unfortunately, due to financial reasons, I am forced to sell the truck and I'm hoping it finds a home that will care for it as much as I do.

This truck has a lot of memories attached to it so I'm sad to see it go, but I'm happy that I got to own it for at least a little while.
