Description:

1970 Toyota Land Cruiser

Up for sale is the shell of a 1970 Toyota Landcruiser FJ55. There is no reserve on this auction and it will sell. To answer the most asked questions, no you can’t drive it home and yes it does have rust. There is no engine or transmission. A title will not be provided with this sale. I have no idea of the internal condition of the axles. The frame looks good and I didn’t see any rot through anywhere, mainly just surface rust. I could see this truck going in 2 directions. Slap a drivetrain in it and wheel it or cut it up and get the rest of the good metal off it for your restoration project.

I have taken a bunch of photos and I will try to cover the condition of the body the best I can. The front inner fender/core support is in good shape. There is a tear in the metal on the right side of the radiator opening. It could easily be welded out. There are some dings/dents on it that can be banged out. The firewall is pretty good. There is 2 holes cut by the brake and clutch master area. I’m guessing someone put a powered booster into it. The driver floor has some holes in it. The passenger floor is much better with one hole in that area. The mid floor is ok. The seam looks rough where the floor transitions into the rear area. The rear floor is good. Someone drilled 4 holes into the rear floor. There are some dents in the floor. The driver side rocker has dents and the transition area to the rear wheel well got smacked pretty good. The rear wheel well arch is nice. The rear quarter has a dent in the bottom just past the rear wheel. There are some small holes in that spot. The rear area by the lights has some dents. There is an area by the reflector that looks like a couple of taps with a hammer will open it up. The rear sill looks good. The passenger rear quarter by the lights is dented in. The area by the reflector is rotted out and much worse than the driver side. There is a tear in the metal above the wheel well arch that has been welded but not finished out. The wheel well arch on that side is good also. The passenger rocker is good but is dented in. There is a rot hole in it. It could probably be pulled back out and used. All the pillars look real good. The roof has a few dents that push out by hand. The gutters look great and I really don’t see any suspect areas in the roof. This roof would be a perfect replacement roof for someone.

Underneath looks ok. Some of the floor crossmember ties in to the rockers are holed out. The driver side front floor body mount is junk. The passenger side is good. The body mount supports under the rear seat area look good. The rear inner sill/body mount area all looks really good. The floor looks good from underneath.

I’m not trying to hide anything about the condition of this truck. If you have questions or need more photos, ask me. I’m also selling it locally and it is on the Cumberland Valley PA Craigslist page so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I’ll work with anyone on shipping and storing it for a reasonable amount of time if we work that out before the auction ends. Please don’t waste my time and bid on this unless you have the money and means to get it. I’ll require a $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of winning. The rest can be cash in person. I also have a bit of a parts cache and I’m willing to work with the winner if some parts are needed. I can be reached at 7327785268. Thanks for looking.
