Description:

1975 Toyota Land Cruiser Land Cruiser

Up for auction is our beloved 1975 FJ40 with Hard Top.VIN is FJ40207685.It very clean, has a 4-speed manual transmission and a Toyota 4.2 L Inline 6 cylinder engine (Toyota F2) which was replaced with a new/remanufactured Toyota F2 engine in Oct. 2005!At that time, a larger cooling system was also installed.

This vehicle was carefully RESTORED bolt by bolt, above the frame, in 2011 with all rusted panels cut out of the driver and passenger's floor boards, several spots in the rear bed area, both fenders and rear sill then rewelded with new metal. The edge between the hard top and body and the area under the windshield frame were repaired, primed, painted and a new seal installed. Also, the fiberglass top was removed from the upper window section and the fiberglass repaired, metal cleaned, primed, painted and a new rain gutter weather strip installed. All door weather stripping was removed, doors repaired and new weather strip installed.

The FJ40 is painted inside and out with the Toyota "Sun Fusion" FJ Cruiser color from 2007-2010 (Toyota color code 5A3).All small parts, inside and out, were colored with Silver Metallic to match the FJ Cruiser small parts color.

Exterior is GREAT[ADDITIONAL PHOTOS] with a few nicks or imperfections here and there.Body has been patched up, rust cut out, panels welded in and primed and painted. The body does have body filler from various dents and scrapes from snow plowing.Interior is very nice with a couple of minor imperfections. This Toyota Land Cruiser is not a "Show Truck", it is NOT original and is not perfect by any means, but it is an excellent example of a daily driver that has been well cared for, restored and not abused. The exterior body and interior look fantastic and I get a lot of looks, "thumbs up" and compliments on its condition.

The absolute worst part of the Land Cruiser is the driver's seat. The seat is old and worn but the seat back is in good shape. The passenger seat is in good condition.I just have not bothered to replace it or recover it.There is one missing bolt on the outside of the driver's seat mount that requires locking plyers to secure (see photo). The part can be ordered when you replace the seat or a new bolt welded on if you elect to keep the seat.

There is some light pitting on the top 1/2" of the passenger door window glass and very mild pitting on the driver's side. This was there when I purchased the vehicle. Also, the driver and passenger door window channels are getting old and could be replaced. The windows roll up and all the way down with ease.

This has been a great daily driver for me.Everything works; interior and exterior lights, heater, radio, wipers, gauges, speedometer, cigarette lighter, etc.The original mileage of the truck is unknown since the previous owner did not have a working odometer/speedometer.He did replace the engine and cooling system in 2005.I purchased the vehicle in 2007 and have only put on 4,400 miles!I estimate the mileage at 5,500.Very strong engine, clutch, cooling system and transmission with no leaks and strong four-wheel drive!

A nice addition in 2013 is the four-wheel Willwood Disc Brakes installed by a friend who is a Toyota ASE mechanic.I have also updated the clutch slave cylinder, brake master cylinder, rebuilt the carburetor, replaced both front axle Warn 4X4 hubs, rebuilt the steering box, added front spring bushings, added an Optima Yellow Top Deep Cycle battery and a rear 2" hitch.

There is a factory 2" full roll bar with soft head pads for rear passengers. There are no rear seats! Both front passenger doors have an aluminum "Serengeti Door Panel".This is a single metal piece from Cool Cruisers that is powder coated black and fits over the entire interior of each front door.Very clean and nice look.

Seven-foot hydraulic Meyers E47 Steel Snow Plow with "Slick Stick" controls mounted at the top of the stick shift for easy driving while plowing. It has a steel blade that is 24" high with two yellow marking poles on either end. There are attached snow plow lights and turn signals in front. The snow plow motor was replaced in 2016 and two new ram arms installed the spring of 2017.

The plow is very capable, it is easy to drive and ready to go for this winter. The FJ40 is a fantastic rig for snow plowing. It has a . . .

•very strong four-wheel drive system & transmission

•great heavy-duty front and rear axles

•short wheel base for easy maneuvering

•great visibility out of all the windows

I have been very impressed with its Winter performance!

Best of all, the snow plow is fully removable which returns the look of the truck to 99% original. There are just two 2" square holes in the front bumper for the lights and plow motor (see pictures) and two plates below the passengers for the long snow plow braces that mount to the frame [ADDITIONAL PHOTOS] .This is a VERY sturdy design for plowing and all professionally done by the previous owner's mechanic/welder in Idaho!

There is also a full second set of four 15" Toyota Wheels with STUDDED & SIPPED Snow Tires (Wildcat EXT Radial LT 31x10.50R15LT) and very deep 1/2" tread that come with the truck.Just switch them out yourself for winter when it is legal to do so.Summer wheels and tires are 15" Kumho Venture MT (31x11.50R15LT) with approximately ¼" tread.

Pioneer aftermarket AM/FM/CD/MP3 with two Pioneer speakers on each floor board are included. Two extra speaker wires already run from the head unit, underneath the truck and up and inside the roll bar for additional speakers to be added.

Since I am very tall, the only major modification is the Clutch, Brake and Gas pedals have all been professionally Lowered 3 inches. They are all in the stock location but the bottom of the pedals are just 5 1/2 inches off the floor. The driver's seat has also been Raised 2 1/2 inches by adding metal and wood blocks bolted to the floor. These can be removed if desired. As is, the truck can still be driven by anyone of any size I just needed a little more leg room.As we all know, there is plenty of head room!

I have a spare tire carrier and latch, painted "Sun Fusion" to match, but it is not mounted on the truck.I have new "Toyota" and "4 Wheel Drive" badges with rubber gaskets and mounts that come with the vehicle but I have chosen not to install them.

I am happy to answer any questions to the best of my knowledge and/or send you specific photos of any part of the vehicle.

If you are located out of state, please feel free to schedule a local mechanic or third-party friend look at the vehicle as this is a used vehicle and is sold as-is.
