1979 Toyota Other Toyota Pickup Original Pick-up First Year Factory 4x4

You are bidding on a 1979 Toyota 4-WD truck. 1979 was the first year that the Toyota factory offered the 4x4 factory option in the Toyota compact pick-up chassis. As you can see by the pictures this is a very well kept original body Toyota 4x4. I was a friend of the original owner and he had to go to Minneapolis to buy it, back in 1979, so I am the second owner and this truck has been in North Dakota it's whole life.
This truck had been sitting for over 10 years until I got it so it has not been driven much for the last 15 years. The things I have done to it recently is put in a new clutch, clutch cable, pressure plate and throw out bearing. New 4x4 drive shaft and rear u-joint. New battery. Attached new electric fuel pump to frame like they do with Baja's instead of in tank.
The wiring in this truck is really great, as it appears only the fuel gauge is not working. There are allot of original parts on this truck....the original spare tire has never been removed, the original jack in the back that bolts down. As far as the 20R engine goes I'm not sure on it being original or not, but I had to replace the tranny as a u-joint from the 4x4 drive shaft flew apart and put a hole in the tranny, so another transfer case came with the used tranny so I just bolted the whole works in together...I still of course have the original transfer case.
The mileage on the truck shows 60,074 but I'm pretty sure it has been turned over once. The only minor thing right now is the radiator tank seeps on top a little so that should eventually be fixed but you can drive it on short trips all week long before you need to check it.
This truck really should be restored... you just don't find 1st ever Toyota 4x4's in this good of original condition. I hate to let this truck go but I hope it goes to someone who appreciates the history of these trucks as much as I do. Good Luck Everyone!!

She was hitting in a 65 degree batting cage, and getting teeth-rattling bat sting. There is absolutely no doubt, this product removed 100% of her bat sting...."JOEL K. PIKEKentuckyLONGER BAT LIFE: Why pay $300-$400 for a bat and use it cold?If you're not heating your bat up, don't expect it to last long. Bat Companies state in their warranty not to use your bat in temperatures under 65 degrees. (Which is basically telling you to heat them) New composite bats these day's for instance, have such an over spray of epoxy & resin inside the bat barrel. This makes the inner composite fibers so stiff and so brittle in the cold temps. When you heat your bat, you allow those fibers to flex so the bat can rebound enough to keep the fibers from cracking or breaking during cold weather impact. This is called "coefficency of restitution" or (cor)."Here in Michigan the high school baseball season starts in late March, or early April, when game time temperatures are routinely well below most bat manufacturer's suggested temperatures listed on their bat warrantees. I contacted Easton last year (2011 season) and they highly recommended your PyroFlite product so I bought one. My son loves it, he had no cold weather issues with his expensive bats."Thank you,Joe MoranThere is a tremendous need to keep your bat at a safe operating temperature in which it was designed to be used. While aluminum bats dent, composite bats crack when not heated to a bat manufactures recommended temperature for use. Because your bat is not cracked on the outside of the barrel, it does not mean it is not cracked on the inside. It is the cracks on the inside of the composite bat barrel you can't see that do the damage. Your bat will break apart on the inside first, resulting in dead hits on the field. This is one of the reasons we developed the Microwaveable PyroFlite Bat Warmer. To give the players the confidence in the bat they are swinging and safety in the game they love to play. Endorsed or approved by players and leagues in all associations across the Country. For The States Switching To WOOD BATS Next Season Read This:Wood bats absolutely need to be heated. They will shatter quicker than any bat out there and the danger for on deck hitters, pitchers, third and first baseman will increase dramatically from getting hit from a splintered bat. They like to be as warm as you are. The colder the weather will make your bats more brittle. This is why Canadians choose to split maple logs in the winter!" I spoke with Sam about this and he went on to tell me that he recommended to equipment managers that they warm their bats.
