Description:

1988 Toyota MR2 Supercharged

1988 MR2 SC. White / Blue interior. 130,000 miles. Car is in good shape for a 28 year old car. Original factory Supercharged car.
I love mr2s and have owned several. When I bought it it had been sitting for a long time and was not running. The previous owner stated it was due to a failed fuel pump. I dropped the gas tank, cleaned it, installed new fuel pump, and coil to get the car running. Then did a full tune up including: spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap and rotor, and fuel filter. Replaced valve cover gaskets. Thermostat replaced, coolant system flushed and new Toyota long life coolant put in. All parts were OEM original toyota parts with the exception of the ignition wires (we're not available from the dealer). Replaced catalytic converter, a sensor, and repaired vacuum leak to pass AZ emissions.
It drives great. Very quick. I have many maintenance records that cover from new to the year to the year 2008 when I believe it was taken off the road. I have the original window sticker and sales contract.
White paint still has original striping. Interior is in great shape for the year. There is a slit on the passenger side door panel at the top from the sun. There is a crack in the center A/C vent of dash. (Vent could be swapped out if one located) This car is lowered a little, and has a magnaflow exhaust. A/C is in tact, but not blowing cold. Has not been converted to newer freon. Tires have a ton of tread, but are old. Timing belt was done around 60k miles. The original t-top covers and bags are still in good shape. Own a rare piece of history that is quite fun to drive! This MR2 is not perfect, but a great foundation for a project or just enjoying a rare classic.Clean AZ title. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel this listing at anytime if the car sells.
