1983 Toyota CelicaUp for auction is my 1983 Toyota Celica GT-S coupe. I am a private seller, not a dealer. I am the 3rd owner. It is in excellent condition, runs and drives great, with many recent maintenance parts replaced. It is 100% rust-free, accident-free, and 100% original down to the radio. Has 159K original miles, PW, PL, PM, AM/FM/Cassette with EQ. 1983 was the first year for the GT-S, and it was a package added to the GT....in 1984 it received its own model line next to the ST and GT. It added thealloys, fender flares, sport seats, wider tires, and the IRS adapted from the Supra, just to name some of the upgrades. It has the 22RE and W58 5-speed trans. It pulls strong, purrs at idle or doing 80 on the freeway, and shifts wonderfully. Never any smoke oradventitious noises from the drivetrain. Here is a breakdown of recent maintenance within the last few months.....
-New clutch (Aisin kit)-New tires-New rear KYB shocks-New fuel pump & fuel filter-New battery-New drive belts-New O2 sensor-New A/C compressor (Aisin) and filled with fresh R12-New rear main seal done with clutch-New poly shifter bushing-New valve cover gasket. Upon replacement the timing chain guides were inspected and both sides are fully intact, and the tensioner is working properly. -Fresh gear oil in the trans-New exhaust from the manifold back including muffler, done to stock specs. It passed emissions here with no problem.
As with any car that is 30+ years old, it has a couple faults. I believe in total transparency, so here are some nits to pick....
-The power mirrors don't work-The hood was repainted to alleviate clear coat peeling from UV. Now there is a spot on the hood about the diameter of a volleyball that is starting to orange peel. You have to look to see it. -The keys are all different from locks failing over the years. The ignition is different from the drivers' door and they are different from the truck. It just means you have to carry a few keys with you. I'm sure a good locksmith can fix this, I just haven't gotten around to it.-I can't get air to come out of the top defroster vents-The windshield has a small crack in the VERY corner of the passenger side bottom. Its completely out of view while driving, and since its the original Toyota windshield, I have opted not to replace.-The center console lid doesn't latch anymore-The passenger window is slow when using the switch on the drivers door, but fast when using its own switch on the passenger door.
Thats all I can think of, and alot of that really is picking nits on a 33 year-old car. It really is in fabulous shape, and has been garaged and taken care of its entire life. And it shows. If you are a fan of the RWD 3rd Gen Celicas, don't miss this one, you will most likely never find another one like this again. I love talking about this car, so if you would like more info, message me and I'll call you and we can talk about it. Same applies if you would like more photos; I will be happy to oblige.
The car is for sale locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time. There is no warranty on the car either expressed or implied. Pickup or transport of the vehicle is the responsibility of the buyer and all costs incurred. I will need a 10% deposit of the final sale price within 48 hours of auction close, with the remained of thebalancedue no laterthan 7 days after auction ends. I am only dealing in cash or certified cashiers' check. I will be happy to work with the buyer on any pickup/transport.
Thanks for looking at my Celica and happy bidding!

**So the Autocheck that is given to the Celica is stating a mileage snafu but nothing could be further from the truth. I titled it in my name with actual mileage from the 2nd owner with no clerical errors that I am aware of. So I am not sure what Autocheck is saying.**
