There's a good deal of work and great parts added to this little off-road cruiser. She was built to take the family off-roading and still be lightweight to tow and comfortable driving off-road.The stiff and stock leaf spring suspension has been replaced with the Rocky Road Outfitters Coil Spring Conversion System. The axles have been trussed and the transfer case re-geared to run 33" tall tires on 8" wide steel crawler wheels. She is fully caged and seats are upgraded to comfortable off road style Suspension seats that will fit drivers up to 6'5" tall. The 72k original mile stock 1.3L engine has a Weber carb, MSD Ignition, 50 state legal Thorley Header and Optima Battery. The interior features a welded Roll Cage with 4 point Harnesses for driver and 3 passengers. It has a small stereo system featuring a Kenwood subwoofer under the rear seat (I think the Head unit has bluetooth but we used the 3.5mm headphone jack to play music off the phone). It has about 2000 miles on the vehicle since it was built from a completely stock Samurai. It was built to be used as fun, safe and reliable desert and off-road toy that can be towed or trailer-ed.It is street-able but needs a few adjustments for pavement driving. The front axle needs to be rotated about 6 degrees to increase kingpin angle to avoid a bad wobble at 25mph (works great off-road and tows good, but not comfortable for street driving until fixed). Also needs a choke cable to be installed for cold weather starting. She fires right up here in California, but on cold days, you need to lift the hood to turn on choke. A simple cable choke can be installed easily.$12,000 invested in this build. There is a dent in front right side of the hood and fender from getting pinched in a canyon in Ocotillo Wells, CA.FOR CALIFORNIA Buyers, she is registered in AZ and and will not smog in California without re-installing the stock carb and a Cat.(The stock carburetor is included with Samurai and can be directly bolted in with stock wiring intact but I don't have a cat for it).Vehicle should be towed and not driven on the street until the axle angle is increased.I had planned to install the choke cable, increase the axle angle and cut 2" out of the rear springs, but decided to post it as is, instead.
