Completed at Shelby American on July 6, 1967, as a "Basic Order" GT500 without air conditioning and thermactor emissions equipment, 67400F7A02869 was finished in Lime Gold over Black. Equipment included a "Q-Code," dual-carbureted 428 Police Interceptor V-8 engine and four-speed manual transmission, plus options such as Knitted Dcor Interior, Extra Cooling Package, Courtesy Light Group, Shelby-supplied tires, fold-down rear seat, power steering, power front disc brakes and heavy-duty battery. After completion, this car was shipped on the 25th of September to Pletcher Ford, Inc. of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania and purchased by its original owner Nicholas Larzelere of North Wales, Pennsylvania on January 18, 1968.

A Great Driving Example!

Beautifully presented throughout, this GT500 continues to benefit from a complete, "nut-and-bolt" restoration finished in October 2009. An accompanying photo album documents the freshening of an incredibly well-preserved driver to its current show quality condition. A prior steward commissioned a bare-metal strip and repaint by Cobra Jet Customs of the Atlanta, Georgia area, then reassembly and shipment to The Last Detail in North Chicago, Illinois, where final assembly and extensive detailing were performed. Power is delivered by correct date-coded 428 'PI' block, cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds, Holley BJ/BK carbs, intake manifold, air cleaner, RUG-S transmission, '67-only 3.50 Traction-Lok rear end, date-coded radiator and date-correct brake components - including '67-only 'KH' calipers and drums. Its underside reveals meticulously applied correct Red Oxide overspray and period finishes. Other highlights include date-correct seat belts and Carlite glass, rare original wood steering wheel and original Shelby 10-spoke wheels. The factory-stamped Ford VIN resides underneath the Shelby inner-fender VIN plate.

Extensive Documentation File Including Build Sheets and Restoration File!

With little more than test miles under its belt since the restoration, this GT500 is an exceptional example for Concours and well worthy of continued driving enjoyment. Supporting documentation includes the Shelby American World Registry, Shelby Production Order, Vehicle Specifications forms and Deluxe Marti Report. Now available for worldwide purchase and delivery, we highly encourage a closer look at this great American icon.
