HISTORY

In 1988, n invigorated Saab-Scania was doing pretty well thanks in no small part to its 288 American dealers. To celebrate its success, nd build further Esprit De Corps, he company invited those dealers to Sweden and announced the production of a special edition Springtime in Sweden convertible. The SIS package was simple in execution, aking turbocharged, lack on gray 900s, dding 3-spoke wheels and Aero-like bodywork, nd affixing small badges to the cars' glovebox doors. But that simplicity didn't downplay exclusivity, s each dealer was given the opportunity to purchase only one of either 4 automatic or 284 5-speed units. BODYWORK

Looking over this executive class Saab, t's easy to agree that the car was certainly one of the best efforts of the Analog Era. It makes the most of its compact size, ith a coat of glossy black paint that's topped by clean black canvas. Given its low mileage, he car rarely had a chance to incur damage, esulting in tight panels that are backed by a clean CarFax report. And fit and finish is predictably good, ith narrow and consistent shut lines all the way around.

DRIVETRAIN
