1988 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit/Spur/Dawn Tan roof

1988 Rolls Royce Silver Spur. A beautiful car, always garaged in climate controlled environment. I won't say it was never driven in the rain, but it looks like it never saw rain! This car is, in my opinion, as near perfect as you will see. The car looks like new inside and out. The engine bay and trunk are like new, and the interior is gorgeous. The doors all close gently with a satisfying click, no slamming here. The trunk is lined with wool carpeting, underneath is a new battery and a spare tire area that is without the typical rust that is often present on these cars. The interior smells of leather, and opulence. Real Connolly leather is used exclusively, and is hand picked to match, and hand crafted to fit perfectly. Real walnut Burl wood is used for the dash and door caps and seat trim, each piece handcrafted by skilled artisans in Crewe England. These cars are no longer made at the factory in Crewe, I believe that BMW purchased Rolls Royce a while ago, and closed the Crewe plant that had employed generations of craftsmen from the same families for many years. This vehicle rides like, well, a Rolls Royce! I purchased it a little over three years ago, and it was a car that my wife and I wanted for her brother John to experience. John worked with cars his whole life, and fixed autoshop lifts and machines for a living in Pennsylvania. When he was surprisingly diagnosed with terminal cancer, we wanted to drive him around in a car that was as special as he was. We thought about an old Cadillac, but found this car and it was perfect. So we put a new set of the correct tires on the vehicle, had it inspected at the Rolls dealer in Fort Lauderdale, and drove it to Pennsylvania without a single problem. We drove John around when he felt like going, but he was really too sick to go to often. Sadly, John passedaway and is missed, so it is time to let this car go to someone new.We purchased the car from a man in south Florida, who bought the car from a German fellow that he knew from the marina in town. He told us that this man would ship the car from Germany to Florida every time he came to his Florida house, and then send it back to Germany when he left. Incredible. The south Florida man told him that if he ever sold his car or his yacht, that he was interested in buying them, and that is what happened. The yacht is as perfect as the Rolls is, we toured it when we looked at the car, as it was in the water behind the house. No wonder he was interested, the yacht was perfect, like new in every way, like the car.To be fair, and I am not a car dealer, I am honest as you get, the car is not perfect. It is not new, and as such, is not flawless. The biggest issue really, is the speedometer miles. The speedometer was replaced in 2002 by a Bentley dealer in Frankfurt Germany while the car was there. The last picture is a signed affidavit from the dealership showing that the car speedometer was replaced in 2002 when the car had around 29000 miles on it. But they put down Kilometers, not miles, and this caused a problem the next time it was brought over to the States, and it is now shown as an odometer problem on Carfax. The new odometer has under 10,000 miles on it, for a total of less than 40,000 miles. I absolutely believe this mileage is correct, the car is just so pristine inside and out. When we replaced the tires at the recommendation of the Rolls dealer in Fort Lauderdale, we were surprised that they needed to be changed. They looked like new. But, the date code on the tires showed them to be 16 years old! Wow! So we put the proper Avon tires on the car and changed the fluids and that was all the car needed. The inspection report also showed that a warning light controller was intermittent bad, and a warning light would come on occasionally for the brakes. They said the brakes were fine, and suggested a new controller for the light, for 300 dollars. We bought the controller later, and did not put it in the car, as the light was not a problem, it will of course be included. Also, the passenger seat electric controls do not work, and the seat memory function on the driver seat is inoperative. The controls work, just not the memory for multiple drivers. That is it as far as I know. The car drives wonderfully, and the AC auto climate control and cruise control are perfect. The car is located in North Carolina in a climate controlled garage.
