1983 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit/Spur/Dawn Silver spirit***. ****For sale is one 1983 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit. This car was ordered new through Roy Carver of Newport Beach and spent its early years in Beverly Hills. It has always been a California car gradually working its way up to its current home in the San Francisco Bay Area. This car is a nice, original and unmolested vehicle. It is not a show car however, and I would describe it as a nice driver. Much has been done to the car within the past year and depending upon what level of restoration you desire, there is more left to be done. However, the majority of the essential work has been completed. The car has had over $4,000 worth of work done in the past 15 months . The car still wears its original paint in the perenially popular color scheme of Magnolia with dark brown hide leather interior piped in Magnolia. The combination is very attractive. The interior is mostly original with some rejuvenation done to the wood door caps as well as both front door panels. Passed California smog first time with flying colors. Registration current until July 2019. Most everything works on the car, however the AC blows cool but not cold. I suspect it needs a Freon charge. The cruise control has not been checked. The driver side rear passenger window is not operational as is the case with the front passenger seat. The power steering needs topping off every 3-5 days due to a leak in the hose.To my knowledge, everything else works as it should. The original blaupunkt was replaced with an Alpine in dash CD player that works fine with a detachable face. The power antenna extends and retracts as it should. The car runs very well. The odometer showing 10, 0 2 9, however it is stuck in that position. The transmission was rebuilt at 89 k and it shifts effortlessly. The car also runs very cool thanks to recent work done on the cooling system. The car comes with its original books, Some Records, test records from the Rolls-Royce Factory and a pristine original Yale master key. I Will be including extra parts including a new brake line. The car is riding on a set of Michelin Tires.I believe the car could benefit from new shocks to the rear as the legendary Rolls-Royce ride that I remember does not seem present in this car . There may be many other things that I'm not able to recall at the moment so please feel free to ask any and all questions you have prior to placing a bid. This car is sold as is where is with no warranty implied or expressed and buyer is responsibility for all Transportation costs. However, I will assist and cooperate in the shipping of the car. Non refundable PayPal deposit due within 48 Hours of auction close and full payment due within 7 days. Finally, I reserve the right to end the auction early as the car is advertised both locally and Nationwide. On Sep-26-18 at 10:35:26 PDT, seller added the following information:
Update: the poor ride quality in the rear of the car is not due to a need of shocks, but rather a need for the gas Springs to be replaced. They are part of the cars hydraulic system . Flying spares has both parts for under $200. Labor to install is 30 minutes or les, per flying spares.
