1962 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II

Offered for sale a very rare and collectible 1962 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II Long Wheelbase and left-hand drive. This car is also fitted with the glass partition behind the driver. The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II was introduced in October 1959, nd was the first model to exceed Bentley in production numbers with 2417 built between 1959-1962. 258 of these models were long wheelbase chassis . This is one of the last of the approximately 75 left hand drives with the division window built from 1960-1962. The car was also the first to utilize Rolls-Royce's 6.2 liter, 30 hp V-8. This new V-8 replaced the straight-six introduced in 1907 providing about 30% more horsepower and cruising speed was increased by raising the rear axle ratio. The Motor published an extensive road test of the new Silver Cloud II, ith the subtitle "Effortless speed and extreme quietness with the new V-8 engine. " In September 1960, oad & Track reported, It is a pleasure to report that there is still a company in business dedicated to the task of producing the best car in the world, egardless of the price." The quality of these fine automobiles is attested by the Rolls-Royce advertising slogan "At 60 mph the loudest noise you will hear in the new Rolls-Royce comes from the electric clock." This never damaged or corroded example is Chestnut brown topped with Honey. My father is the second owner of this car with 92934 original miles. Options include A/C, actory power windows and power antenna, riginal tool kit and owners manual. The car was repainted in the early 90's and all the chrome and stainless was "lost" by the paint shop so it was all replaced new and still looks that way. My father has owned this car for over 20 years and it has been garaged and driven occasionally. It runs, rives and shifts well.
