In mid-1961, orsche implemented a redesigned body for the 356 B, hich had first appeared at the 1959 Frankfurt Motor Show. Known as the T-6, he new body included twin rear deck grilles, arger glass areas and an exterior fuel filler relocated to the front right fender. The new 356 still offered three different states of tune to its 1,582 cc engine, he most powerful of which was dubbed the Super 90. Named for a power output of 90 hp, he Super 90 utilized a higher-lift camshaft and Solex carburetors to achieve an improved compression ratio of 9.1:1. In combination with improved cooling and an upgraded lubrication system, he high-tune engine provided an unprecedented level of performance for the timelessly styled 356.
