Enjoy the thorough information below. Such comprehensive information/photos/video footage is provided for prospective buyers to be confident that this 911 is for them. Purchase this vehicle with the utmost confidence. I have sold other vehicles via Ebay nationwide and worldwide with 100% positive feedback. I am a sports car and Porsche enthusiast that has owned many 911’s (SC’s, arreras, 64’s, 30, tc.), now these cars well, nd of course greatly appreciate them!

Intro:

For your consideration is this 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa. It is a very nice and presentable condition example that has been well maintained and ready to be enjoyed as is. This Carrera has traveled 98,500 miles, etains its original non-rebuilt drivetrain, etains its original very uncommon but very attractive Zieglerotmetallic (metallic reddish with slight orange) paint color, nd has an exceptionally solid body. Extensive maintenance history receipts are included that date back to 1984. Some specific miles and dates are listed below. Absolutely no 1st gear synchro issues on this example. The original Fuchs rims are present in great condition as well.

The 1984-1989 Carreras are considered the most desirable years for the aired-cooled Porsche 911 of this body style. 1984 was the first year of the “new” Carrera which had many nice improvements compared to the prior 3.0L “SC” models. The biggest change being the Carrera has the better and more powerful 3.2L 6 cylinder engine. Other improvements included a better fuel injection system, etter chain tensioners and fog lights recessed in the front valence. Approximately 2,260 Carrera Targas were brought to the United States in 1984 and so few of them with this beautiful paint color. Air-cooled 911’s have greatly increased in demand and it makes sense why due to how unique, imeless, ell built, nd attractive these machines are.

This 911 is very presentable rock solid example and a get-in-and-drive ready to enjoy vehicle. Please view all of the 198 photos, he 12 minute video, nd the detailed description below to see just how nice this 911 is.

3.) Cold start up: This 911 starts the first time every time and does so easily. Notice the excellent oil pressure. Notice the gauges and accessories are functioning properly.

4.) Gauges while driving: Notice it keeps a proper temperature, as excellent oil pressure and the gauges work.

5.) Driving shots: Notice just how great this 911 drives. It shifts excellently, as great throttle response, nd sounds great. Absolutely no 1st gear synchro grinding. Notice the quality of the reflections in the finish.

Exterior:

As stated, his Carrera is a very presentable example. The exterior cosmetics are great for the age and at a level appropriate for a Porsche 911 example that will be admired but also driven. Below are further details about the condition of the finish, ody, nd other cosmetics.

The Porsche Zieglerotmetallic (metallic reddish-orange) is a striking color. As much as I love a 911 in Guards Red, rand Prix White, r black, his metallic reddish-orange finish really stands out, n a good way. The tint is more on the reddish side. The tint changes somewhat pending the angle and intensity of the light. This is the original paint color to the car. The trunk area, nderside of the hood, ngine bay, ront bumper, nd door jambs look to for sure have the original factory applied finish. I cannot confirm which body panels on the exterior have been refinished but some have been and I can say it matches very well throughout. Someone looking for a museum piece will find more typical wear and details than they would like as the refinishing is not of Concours quality. Someone looking for a very nice example of a 911 that looks great, rives great, nd can be enjoyed as it is for quite some time should find the condition of the finish on this 911 to definitely meet their needs. There are some typical but limited nicks, hips, nd minor scratches here and there that can be seen if you get your nose up to it. There is a 4” or so horizontal scratch above where the passenger rear quarter meets the back bumper, hich has been touched up very nicely. The front bumper does have paint chips due to stone type impacts. The rest of the front looks great with very few marks, ncluding the airdam. The finish itself matches very nicely on each panel in terms of tint, etallic flake size, lossiness, nd so on. The finish is quite glossy and looks great in this respect. Notice in the video clips and the photo of the 911 book next to the car the quality and level detail of the reflections.

The body on this 911 is impressively solid. It looks to have been taken care of extremely well and not been driven in winter. The floors, op and bottom, ook absolutely excellent! There is not even any scaling. The trunk floor also is excellent with the paint in that area still looking great. There is one area near the battery where it looks like some acid might have taken the paint off causing the metal to oxidize on the surface. It is just lightly at the surface and a wire brush, ome prep, nd some touch up paint would handle it. The rockers in front of the rear wheels is completely solid as is the back corner of the door jamb near the same area. Absolutely no oxidation bubbles, caling, r evidence of rust repair. The history report does state there has been one accident and that occurred to the rear. It looks like any resulting damage was light and cosmetic as the chassis in the engine bay and structure underneath does not show signs of repair. The body overall is absent of notable door dings. You can kneel down to look down the side of the car and it looks nice and straight and quite glossy. The most significant “ding” is to the lower right rear lower sheet metal below the bumper which looks to be the result of someone reversing into something. Just the lower panel looks to be bent and has a few scrape on it. The whale tail spoiler looks great on this car. There are a couple minor cracks in it. The black rubber is very nice on it. The door gaps are great and the doors open and close very easily. The glass throughout looks good and is absent of aftermarket tint. The original Fuchs rims look excellent, re absent of curb rash, nd could use a little polishing to look even better. The lenses throughout are great and the rear taillight section is NOT cracked which is pretty common. The targa top vinyl is in excellent condition and is nice and tight. The Porsche tool kit in nice shape is present as is the spare and jack. The engine bay overall looks presentable.

This 911 truly does look very nice. The cosmetics can easily be enjoyed as is or some minor work can be done later in one’s ownership to bring the car up to the next level.

Interior:

The interior overall on this 911 collectively is nice and in most aspects shows some expected use. There are many great points about it and a few items that could be replaced. Very importantly, here is no evidence that it has been smoked in! No cigarette burns are evident, o tar, o ashes, o bad smell. The interior has the typical and unique Porsche leather sweet type smell. The door panels are very good and show some normal use. The steering wheel is the nicer (in my opinion) three spoke wheel which is in overall good and shows some normal aging. The most significant wear item is the driver seat leather is cracking and coming apart at some of the seams. The foam itself is still supportive and great. The seat still is comfortable so it is more of a cosmetic item that one may choose to take care of. The passenger seat overall is good and looks how it should for the age and mileage. The sun visors are a little loose and like to flip down so right now are being held up by bungie cords. The dashboard has the typical warping to it, ore so closer to the defroster vents. The warping is not excessive but is noticeable. Luckily the dash is not cracked. The dashboard as a whole does look very nice and shows limited marks. The gauges look very good. The center console is very good. The carpet overall looks good and is in the condition to be expected. The original floormats are present and overall are good. The interior overall is still presentable and aids in enjoyment of the car. Some work here and there would bring it up another level.

Mechanical:

The mechanical aspects of this 911 are its best aspects. Get in, tart it, nd drive away with no funny business. It has received regular maintenance and receipts are included going all the way back to 1984. Details of some of the receipts, ileage, nd dates are listed below. Most of this service has been completed by Porsche specialists.

The engine is original to the car and is non-rebuilt and not needing a rebuild or other significant attention. The engine starts right up the first time every time and quite easily, hen cold and warm. It holds a steady idle right away. It has great oil pressure through the RPM range (shown in the video). The engine keeps a constant and proper temperature. Absolutely no excessive oil leaks or drips! Since it is an air cooled Porsche, here are of course a couple drips here and there. After driving the car multiple times and parking it, t will leave about a dime size oil drip. Pictures are shown of the underside of the engine. The typical drips look to be coming from the typical minor spots like some of the many hoses and valve cover gasket. Most importantly, he cylinders look great and dry. Absolutely no evidence of a rear main seal leak either. The exhaust is in very nice condition and looks to be a stainless steel unit, hich sounds lovely. For you California folk, he catalytic converter is still present. This engine pulls extremely strong. The mixture feels spot on. The engine goes through the RPM range like how it should and offers spirited driving.

The transaxle on this 911 is in great functioning condition. The shifter feels like how it should. Most importantly, st gear has absolutely no grinding issues like many of the 1986 and early examples do. The rest of the gears shift smoothly as well. There are no odd noises from the transaxle. The clutch feels great with no issues. The clutch has been replaced but the receipt does not show a date or mileage.

The brakes function properly on this 911. It stops straight and without vibration. The tires are newer, re matching, nd in excellent condition. They are of the proper size, re BF Goodrich Comp 2’s, nd were installed on 7/8/2013 with the odometer at 96143 miles. New brake pads were installed at about the same time. The suspension feels proper. It has a nice tight feeling to it, ot worn. The car goes straight down the road too.

The A/C I am going to assume needs to be recharged. The components for the system are still installed. These systems are known in the 1989 and older vehicles to be inadequate due to the long hoses. No electric issues are noticed. The headlights work fine. The brake lights, urn signals, indows, tc. are functioning. All of the gauges are working, ncluding the clock. The speedometer and odometer has always worked. The heater and blower fan also work.

***Please Note:There is a glitch for those using the Ebay mobile app. For whatever reason, n my 911 ad and some other 1984 911 ads listed, one star review from a member shows up dated in October. There is a comment with it stating something like, Had my friend look at this. Complete junk." The member that made this comment did so using the mobile app for a different 1984 911 that he looked at back in October. Due to a glitch with Ebay, he review was applied to 1984 911 Targas as though it is a product review. That review is NOT for this vehicle. I have spoken to the member via phone about this and he has been helpful. I amstillworking on solving this issue with Ebay customer service. As a temporary solution, have listed this 911 as an '85, ut it is an '84. Any questions, lease contact me. The photos, etails, nd video below should speak for itself that this is a very nice example of a 911 and my feedback should show I am a positive member of the Ebay community.
