1986 Porsche 911 3.2L Carrera Cabriolet

Offered for sale is an exceptionally clean, 3k original mile 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet finished in timeless Grand Prix White over Black leather. The car is as mechanically sound as it is beautiful, rare original example that comes with its original owner’s manual, eavily stamped service booklet and a clean CARFAX report documenting the car’s mileage history. If you’re in the market for a 3.2L 911, his beautiful example absolutely deserves your consideration.

Delivered new to a Mr. Bart Faber by Lee Klinger Porsche Audi in Highland Park, llinois, he car remained with the original owner, erviced by one of two Porsche dealerships in the Chicago area until 2001, hen he moved to Phoenix, rizona, ringing the car with him. He subsequently sold it later that year with 46k miles to an Arizona business associate. He would retain the car until early 2008 when it was sold to its third and most recent owner in Bloomfield Hills, ichigan. Like its previous owners, he third owner always used the car sparingly only in fair weather months and always kept it well maintained. We acquired the car directly from the third owner earlier this summer.

The care provided throughout its life is evident in the car’s clean cosmetics and strong mechanicals. The finish is excellent, eep and lustrous and marred only by the most negligible of imperfections, one of which are significant enough to appear in the pictures or detract from the car’s considerable appeal. The finish cloaks a body that is straight and free of dents, ith excellent panel fits and gaps throughout. All of the glass and rubber is in excellent condition and all of the original Fuchs wheels are in great shape and are wrapped in BF Goodrich tires with plenty of remaining tread. The car’s undercarriage is completely rust-free, riginal and untouched, howing only road dust and wear consistent with 63k miles of well-cared-for use.

The car’s interior is also in great shape, he black leather seats and interior panels showing only minimal wear. The dash is free of cracks or warping and it houses a more modern Alpine sound system, lthough the original Blaupkunkt radio can be easily sourced. The black canvas convertible top is brand new and the car comes with its original boot cover, hich is still in great shape.

The car is also exceptionally tight and strong mechanically, he bulletproof 3.2L engine starting easily without any smoke or hesitation and pulling strongly and smoothly through each of the 915 transmission’s gears. Compression is excellent, s is oil pressure, nd it’s easy to understand why this era of 911s is one of the most desirable: it beautifully melds efficiency, eliability and performance with a truly visceral, intage driving feel that is sure to provide anyone behind the wheel a wonderfully grin-inducing experience.

If you’re in the market for a clean and correct 1980s 911 Carrera, here are very few examples that can best this beautiful example. It checks all the right boxes: only 63k documented miles, o evidence of any accidents and a clean CARFAX history report, imeless livery and strong, rofessionally maintained mechanicals. With the market reflecting continued and rapid appreciation, his is arguably one of the best examples of one of Porsche’s best creations and we know it will provide its next owner with the same pride of ownership and motoring enjoyment as it did its prior three.
