1961 Porsche 356

On offer is a rare and highly desirable T5 S90 Coupe. I have been in the business of selling Porsche 356’s for over 30 years, and this is my own personal car.

I am a fanatic about these cars running and driving flawlessly, and this one does just that. When I bought it from the long term owner, the mechanicals were all original with just over 100k miles. I commissioned Automobile Associates of Canton (Connecticut, Jim Newton & Scott McPherson) to freshen the car as my intention was to drive it a lot. So, they did a complete top end engine rebuild (numbers matching) with a 1720 big bore kit. Horsepower is now about 100. (the bottom end was in perfect condition), perfectly rebuilt original spec Solex carburetors, all new transmission synchros, complete front suspension rebuild, alignment, and tires. This work is fully documented and in fact I have documented service history on the car going back 25+ years. The car was always very well cared for.

Body structure is superb. Panel fit on doors and lids is excellent. Floors, longitudinals and jack points are all original and immaculate. The battery box was repaired decades ago for the typical battery acid spill.

Since the mechanical work I have driven the car nearly 4000 miles. Most recently I had it in Vermont in mid September with several other vintage cars and we did about 500 miles over a three day period. The car ran absolutely flawlessly, great power and performance, fantastic handling. The car comes with the aforementioned service history, owner’s manual, tool kit, jack and spare. It features the original and fully functional Blaupunkt radio and super rare and properly working fog lights. I have added to the car LED tail and brake lights for safety. I have a Kardex and Certificate of Authenticity in hand.

This is an absolutely turn key car ready for your inspection. I am available to answer any and all questions: 203.852.1670. You will not be disappointed in this superb car.. Matt deGarmo. Norwalk, CT
