Description:

1963 Porsche 356 B

I've reached a stage in my life where my car collection has outpaced my ability to restore so I'm thinning the herd! Up for auction is a Ruby Red 1963 Porsche 356B Karmann Body Coupe. Essentially, this car is a shell but maintains its steering components, all original Sigla and Sekurit glass, and much of its wiring. I'm including a third, mint-condition door to replace the original driver's door that's in rough shape. In its current state, it's more parts than car, so I'll be offering it with a Bill of Sale and will include the BOS I got from the seller more than 10 years ago if I'm able to locate it. There's a great-looking 1963 356 engine currently listed on eBay, and it's only a 3-hour drive from me, so if this car doesn't sell (which a significant part of me hopes it doesn't), I'll be looking at that engine soon. I promised my better half that I would make an honest whole-hearted attempt to sell, so I'm offering this car at NO RESERVE! High bid, any bid will win! (And, if it receives zero bids I'll try to look her in the face without grinning when I give her the bad news.) I can help you or your shipper load, and there's easy street access. I'm also including the custom-made dolly the car is sitting on to make loading easier. I will gladly store the car for up to 2 months once payment has been made in full. If you've been looking for a 356 project online, I'm sure you've seen the mangled paperweights that some are offering. You can barely tell they are 356s save the recognizable taillight or headlight peaking out from the crumpled heap. And, they're asking WAY more than I'm starting the bidding at for this auction. Let the market dictate what the true value of this car is. According to 356 Registry, only 57,544 coupes were ever made. Of those, only 8,275 were made in 1963. Of those, the majority were Reutter, making this Karmann body that much rarer. When they are gone they are gone forever, so thanks for considering saving this invaluable piece of automotive history. Please do not hesitate to ask any Qs before bidding, check out my perfect eBay feedback, and good luck should you decide to bid! Sold as-is, where is. No warranties expressed or implied. A non-refundable $500 deposit is due via PayPal within 48 hours of the winning bid. The balance can be paid via Paypal or cashier's check, due within 7 days of auction's end. Non-paying winning bids WILL be reported to eBay.
