In 1984, Porsche introduced the M491 option. Officially called the Supersport, it was commonly known as the "Turbo-look". It was a style that resembled the Porsche 930 Turbo with wide wheel arches and the distinctive "tea tray" tail. It featured the stiffer turbo suspension and the superior turbo braking system as well as the wider turbo wheels. In 1987 it was offered with the famous G50 Transmission. I saw a Porsche article several months ago regarding a well know Porsche Enthusiast Bruce Anderson in the 90s said, "Only 16 M491 Cabriolets BLK/BLKwere shipped the USA in 1987."
This is a 3 owner California/Arizona car that has always been maintained to a high standard. The car drives extremely smooth, tight and straight. It has been driven only 83020 pampered miles and looks and drives more like a 50k mile car. These Air cooled 911s are rising in value everyday and this is the one to own. It just had a major service and needs nothing. The black paint is great condition and all original. The paint is very glossy and has only a few minor stone chips that were touched up on the nose. The doors close easily and all the gaps line up excellently. The undercarriage is solid with no signs of rust.
The Interior color is Black and is literally brand new! $8k was just spent on New Carpets, Original Mats, New Leather Seats covers that are eight position power. The top is also brand new and is Black. The power top works perfect and has no latches - it's 100% automatic. When you open the door it smells and looks like a new car. The dash is perfect with no warping or cracking . The original Blaupunkt Reno radio is in perfect condition including the cassette . There is not much to say other then the interior is Pristine and new in every way. Inside the car you will find everything to be working properly. Both power seats work, Original Blaupunkt Reno radio with cassette. Cruise control, power top and windows all work perfect.
Mechanically she is in a fantastic condition! The car just had over $5k in service. The valves were adjusted, new gaskets for the top and bottom covers, New 134 A/C conversion, dryer and valve, distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires. The brakes are cross drilled rotors and they stop this car on a dime. The tires are in great condition. The car drives very well and pulls hard through all 5 speeds with ease. The Clutch was replaced less than 1,000 miles ago. The suspension feels very tight and this car handles like an M491 911 should. All fluids were replaced 500 miles ago.
It also includes the Factory Owner's Manual,Warranty Voucher with Option Codes Sticker, Service & Maintenance Book with some stamps, Porsche CO, and Factory Compressor for tires.
