Description:

1979 Porsche 928

Update! The steering wheel dash, seen in one of the pictures, was recently re-upholstered in solid black material. The plaid material was producing a glare in the sunlight, and was distracting when driving.

NO RESERVE, my loss will be your gain.

I won't insult your intelligence advertising a car with low mileage. I have two other vehicles, one has 35,000 miles and the other has 40,000 miles. They both look like new. One is 28 years old and the other is 4 years old. Nothing like the pictures I see on eBay claiming to have under 80,000 miles but look like they have ran 400,000 miles. I present to you an honest offer. My mechanic tells me Porsche 928s often receive a new odometer cluster with zero miles; or worse, dishonest people roll back the miles on this older vehicles.A 38 year old vehicle will easily have over 100 thousand miles. What I offer is a car with an untouched odometer cluster. The speedometer works fine, but the mileage is stuck at 144,000.I have spent years and lots of money restoring it to be a weekend driver; although, sometimes I drive it during the week.It is not show quality, but runs strong and looks nice. You can drive it as an original classic 928, and when the mood suits you, you can drive it as a sporty and flashy automobile (see attached "Fire Sunburst" pictures). I do have the car listed for sale locally and reserve the right to end the listing early. Here is what you'll get:

1979 Porsche 928, 5 Speed Manual Transmission, Charcoal Gray with Black and Plaid Interior. The Fire Sunburst accent is a wrap which can be removed when you desire to drive an original 928.This car runs amazing!I bought the car advertised as having a rebuilt engine.I had it professionally serviced and my mechanic confirmed the motor was rebuilt in the past.I spent $10,000 on the engine top-end and on a complete new clutch assembly (2016).There are no known mechanical issues.I spent an additional $11,000 on the car's new paint (2017) and a new interior (2017).The 928 comes with an original wheel set of 16 inch Telephone Dial Wheels.$1,200 went to the wheel restoration and tires (2017) with a five stage finish (cook, chemical, sand blast, powder coat, and cook again). It has 7.5 wheels 225-50-16 in the front and 8.5 wheels 245-45-16 in the rear.I spent an additional $2800 on rebuilding the breaks system (2017); this included new master brake cylinder, reservoir, front rotors, and front and rear brake pads. The rear rotors were turned. The electrical windows work but need new switches, driver seat also works but needs new switches, and the speedometer cluster needs some attention. The speedometer works but the dash lights do not work. All other aspects of the car work as they should. Please view photos and ask any questions, I will do my best to answer them.
