1957 Porsche Speedster --

For those that love the essence of the cars, we are presenting our second early Porsche Replica from Vintage Speedster, the first being the 550 Spyder we most recently sold. Again, the faithfulness to the original car is outstanding with acceptable upgrades that stay within the mechanical design parameters and are only noticed when driving the car or when viewed on a hoist. The build quality is outstanding and with over 19,000 miles showing since being built in 2005, the quality of the drivin...g experience is untarnished, cosmetically showing beautifully with a couple of minor marks from use. The interior shows almost no use, the only sign is the driver's seat upper cushion bolster from the driver getting in and out. The underside has surface corrosion as can be seen in the images, but it is minor and can be cleaned up. It was the seller's choice that we not clean it so buyers could see it and make an accurate, honest decision. On the driver's side, a snap needs to be replaced and a seam on the top has something on it. I have included images of everything we are aware of. It is clean and unmolested. The car was built by Vintage Speedster in the LA area and ordered with some of their more popular options. First was the 1915cc engine with Dual Solex Carbs and custom exhaust. What was interesting was that the stock heater boxes are still installed and plumbed for heat. Most don't bother and run "J" tubes to the muffler. It uses a 1970 Beetle Frame with a Ball Joint Front End and added Disk Brakes. The frame is shortened (as thousands were during the Dune Buggy craze) but an earlier Swing Axle 3.88 Rear End was used instead of the IRS of the 1970 model. There is also the Leather Interior Upgrade, Full Tonneau Cover, Trunk Carpeting, Stereo with CD, Bumper Guards, Nardi Steering Wheel, Horn Grills and Chrome Rear View Mirrors. Vintage Speedster asks for several months to build their cars along with a Donor VW floor pan. The cost with the extras this car has is just short of $36,000 and they claim to have built over 3,330 cars so far. The car is titled as a 1970 Volkswagen, reflecting the VIN# 541-223-5103, obviously the donor car. Miles showing are 19,488. It is available for inspection 9-5, Monday through Friday at Automania, 895 SE Gladiola Drive, Grants Pass, OR 97526, 541-223-5103, Oregon Dealer DA1287. If you do not have at least 10 positive feedbacks, please do not bid without contacting me first or your bid will be cancelled or blocked. We do not discuss reserve amounts unless the vehicle does not sell. This vehicle is available for sale at our retail place of business and we reserve the right to end this sale early if it is sold. Ebay has very strict rules about links to a separate site which we do operate. We accept collected funds only and for the amount of the sale. A $1000 deposit must be made within two days of the end of the sale through Paypal or other means of collected funds. We offer a 7 day grace period after this Ebay sale closes to inspect the vehicle yourself and if it is not to your liking, a full refund of the deposit will be made. The vehicle cannot be picked up until funds have cleared or prior arrangements have been completed. Shipping quotes should be from 97526 Grants Pass, Oregon to where you are. Please, do not use fly by night shippers. We try to offer clean vehicles honestly and to see some loon strapping a car, bike or motor home to an open trailer with bald tires is heart breaking. I can assist the shippers, but that will have to be ordered and paid for by the winning bidder. We cannot accept personal checks. If you have any questions, please e-mail me before bidding and I will do everything I can to answer your questions. Thanks and good luck.
