1966 Porsche 911

I am thinning my collection in order to get a new big addition to my toys and unfortunately this is the second car that would have to go!
This is a very nice complete candidate for restoration that I acquired almost 3 years ago from a "barn"! Before that it was sitting in an older enthusiasts garage next a 65 911. After the gentelman passed, his daughter sold the other car to the motherland where it resides now and this one was bought by another fellow Porsche enthusiast physician where it was sitting with many other 356s. I bought the car being in love with its original color combination of the very famous slate grey and was planning to drive it a little, which I did, until I get the chance to restore it to where it should. Unfortunately/ or fortunately I had other cars to drive and enjoy too so I never gotten to it. I continued driving it every couple of months to make sure it does not sit.
This is a 1966 very desirable short wheel base wooden dash/steering wheel that has all the correct parts down to the webasto heater that it was optioned with and which is very hard to find with these 50+ yr old cars. The interior presents very nicely and I do believe that the front seats were recovered but still has the very good original back seats and carpets. I was planning on keeping the interior the way it is when I restore it. The steering wheel and the dash has a beautiful "patina" that only a 50yrs of time can replicate. The car still has its Blaupunkt radio that it came from factory with.
The exterior need to be fully restored. some would love to drive it the way it is and enjoy it but if that was your decision, I would advise to fix the floor panels since they are rusted.
Mechanically it is equipped with its matching transmission and period correct 2.0 engine that runs but would need TLC to drive the way it should. I do drive it for a short drive every now and then and the longest I have driven it was 120 miles round trip. Breaks are working very nicely and were changed shortly before I bought it and I have not put much miles on them so the car stops the way it should.
This is a car that could be restored to a very nice level and still would be cheaper than a fully restored early short wheel base 901 models especially with how these cars have appreciated lately. They do not make them the way they used to anymore and until you drive or see one of these in person you will then really appreciate this timeless design and the thrill of the drive. This car is sold as is and is being put at NO RESERVE to move fast so I can jump to my new project. This is a great chance for enthusiasts who think that these cars are out of reach and it does not come that often. Please feel free to ask for more info or pics if needed, these were taken out of my iPhone.
