Description:

1979 Porsche 928 NO RESERVE!

1979 Porsche 928

This 928 has been modified for track use. More than 300 lbs have been reduced from the interior. The car is equipped with professional adjustable track seats and four-point harnesses for the driver and front passenger. All wiring and motors are intact and fully functional and any system (climate control, power windows, locks, radio, etc.) can be easily added through plug-and-play if so desired. The car includes everything pictured in the listing together with workshop manuals, factory books, recent records including multiple receipts, the climate control unit, window switches, spare wheel, radio, original seat belts and miscellaneous interior pieces.

This 928 is extremely fast. The 4.5 liter V8 engine runs very strong and smooth and holds excellent oil pressure. The low grumble from the sport exhaust system sounds fantastic. This car is equipped with a five speed manual gearbox mated to a short-throw shifter. The suspension on this 928 is extremely tight and nimble and all four Dunlop sport tires are new. The brakes are excellent. There are no maintenance, check engine, or error lights on in this vehicle. The body is incredibly clean with no rust or corrosion and the custom metallic orange paint with black racing stripes was a several thousand dollar custom paint job and looks stunning. The car is equipped with a hood scoop (nonfunctional in its current configuration), S front spoiler and GTS rear wing.

This 928 comes complete with two keys, original owner’s manual, factory workshop manuals and recent service/repair records. The tachometer and odometer currently are not working. Under the hood, all of the belts appear to be in very good shape but it is not known when the last timing belt service was completed and it would be advised to have this professionally inspected before the car is driven for any significant distance. The transmission shifts into each gear, but there are signs that the clutch will need servicing. This is a rare and well-maintained early Porsche 928 that, with the right care and attention, is sure to significantly appreciate in value in the coming years.
